like a few others mentioned, i got a voicemail with some fake threats about illegal stuff and they kept saying you gotta call them back ASAP. the voice was recorded and left a message but it was hard to catch the company name clearly, sounded kinda muffled like “hmre” or “hermes” maybe. from what i’ve read in other comments, it’s probably another one of those hrmc scams. don’t bother picking up.

i picked up and this recorded message came on, sounded like some bloke with a foreign accent. it said i needed to call back straight away because hmrc had my name and phone linked to some kind of criminal record. the message kept stressing how urgent it was to get in touch. obviously i didn't bother ringing them back and just blocked the number. what a dodgy scam, trying to scare people into phoning back and probably taking advantage of anyone who’s easily worried.

Got calls from this number a couple times today, answered both but the person hung up right away. Watch out, probably a scammer.

Got a voicemail saying it was from HMRC warning me about criminal charges. Totally dodgy, HMRC wouldn’t ever contact you like that. It’s obviously a scam trying to scare you. Blocked straight away.
