Got a call from some Indian lady claiming to be from Better Online Services or something, asking if I was the boss and then pushing me to start with Google ads - I never asked for any of that and had no interest at all. Definitely feels like a scam. First time, I told her I was busy and couldn’t chat, but she kept calling. Second time, same spiel straight away trying to sell stuff before I even got a word in, so I just ended the call.

Definitely a scammer, mate. You can sign up your home phone and mobile with the [#]tpsonline[###] free of charge (Telephone Preference Service), but it takes about 3 weeks to actually start working. You can also lodge a complaint with the TPS if they keep ringing after that.

Looks like it’s a firm called Better Online Services. They kick off their spiel mentioning Google, which instantly gave me scam vibes. The call came from India. What’s annoying is they keep ringing back using different numbers. Today alone, they called me four times straight from a Melbourne number: +61 3 9008 3321 and once from a Belfast one: 028 9058 7707 - I ended up blocking them all. They’re definitely the same dodgy outfit. Best to steer clear!

I got a call from a bloke at 02030513243 asking to speak to the business owner. I said he was at work and then he just hung up. I dialled 1471 and when I finished the call, the phone rang again. This time it was a woman asking for the owner. I told her the same thing and she ended the call too. I checked 1471 again and yep, it was the same number calling back. Not surprised honestly.

somebody from overseas ringing up offering seo services. the standard malarkey about getting on googles first page. when i asked them to take my info off their list and stop calling, they flat out refused. then i mentioned the privacy and electronic communications (ec directive) regulations 2003 and they just said they have no plans to follow that, then just hung up. really unpleasant firm - definitely not one you want to deal with!
