I received a call from someone claiming to be from "Boiler Care," informing me that my boiler warranty had lapsed. The shocking part was that they had no clue about the type of boiler I own! It's just another attempt at scamming, if you ask me.

I got a ring from this number just now - the person didn’t say anything and after about five seconds it just cut off. Someone once told me to take a whistle and blow it loudly down the phone whenever a nuisance call comes through. That actually seems like a pretty funny and clever trick… might give it a go!

I get the same thing happen here. When I answer, there's silence, then the call just cuts off after a bit. This happens often, maybe two times a week or even a couple of times daily some days. Honestly, these dodgy calls need to stop. Wish they’d catch the people behind this and lock them up for a good while. So fed up with these scammers.

Got a call from someone saying Boiler Shield, claiming my insurance had run out - but I’ve never even had that cover! Just ended the call straight away.

I picked up the phone and straight away the line just cut out. When I dialled 1471 to check the number, the message said something like "This was a sales call. You can wait for an agent or we might call you back. Sorry for any hassle caused." But when I waited, the call just dropped again. I'm planning to report this to the TPS and I’d recommend loads of others do the same so they get flagged as nuisance callers. Hopefully, Ofcom will step in and sort it out.

When I picked up, there was a short pause of about 3-5 seconds before a bloke started telling me he was from Boiler Shield and that my boiler insurance was about to end today. He insisted I had to renew straight away. I told him this was the second dodgy call we’d had this week trying this trick. I also mentioned our British Gas policy got renewed back in September. He then just hung up on me. Definitely a scam, watch out!

On 14th Nov 2013 at about 1.58 pm, some bloke called me, shouted some rubbish about ‘a load of ******* B*******’, then just hung up straight away. Lovely!

This morning, I picked up the phone as soon as it rang but no one said anything. After maybe 6 or 7 seconds of quiet, they just ended the call. Honestly, one of these days I’m gonna figure out who it is and pay them a visit to give them a proper talking to!

My mum got a ring saying her boiler insurance was up. She knew for sure it wasn’t, and when she told them, the person just went “Oh right, it’s paid then” and cut the call straight away. Feels like a dodgy scam, probably trying to get her card details to charge for a fake renewal.

I then rang Ideal, who said it wasn’t their call but promised to log my complaint.
