Got a call from someone saying her name was Lynda White, just like another person said here. Seems like these scammers are moving towards Lincolnshire now. If you get this number, best block it straight away.

So, I just got a call from someone called Linda White, claiming to be from HMRC. She wasn’t actually talking though, it was one of those automated robo calls, and she warned me about a "Legal Arrest" thing. It’s ridiculous how serious they’re making it sound but no proper conversation, just a cold robot reading out the threats. Really dodgy if you ask me.

To whoever is behind those HMRC scam calls, especially Linda White or whoever: seriously, find yourself a proper job. It's shameful to frighten elderly folks, lonely people, or anyone who doesn't have a scam detector yet. On another note, BT and other phone companies could put a stop to these calls, but clearly won’t since the cash they make is too tempting. Guess they’re as proud of that dirty money as the scammers themselves. Pathetic all round.

So this morning, just as I was chatting with a hospice nurse about my mum’s motor neurone disease and her end-of-life plans, I got a voicemail from Linda White at HMRC threatening legal action. Honestly, the timing and the callousness blew me away. People like you, Linda, you really deserve a special kind of hell. Hope you get what’s coming to you sooner rather than later.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying I owed tax money and if I didn’t pay up, I’d be taken to court. When I explained I’m a disabled vet and not working, he just hung up on me. Honestly, I was so tempted to let him know exactly what I thought of him.

Got a voicemail on my phone earlier, sounded like some terrible robot message. A while back I caught a news story about scammers pretending to be from HMRC trying to scare people into handing over cash. So I didn’t bother returning the call and won’t be either. From what I’ve heard, HMRC doesn’t make calls like that, they only send letters if they need to talk to you. If this number rings you, don’t pick up or return the call!
