I've been bombarded with numerous calls that claim to be from O2 ever since Virgin dumped its customers months ago. The staff in the O2 store say they can’t even access my account until they've fully transitioned everyone over - it’s such a shambles. I'm really looking forward to ditching them once my contract wraps up soon. I had 37 years of seamless service with Virgin, and now I've ended up with my phone number being compromised after they sold us off to O2. I no longer bother answering these calls - I just give a grunt to mess with their fancy spiel so they don’t get to nab my voice for their records.

Got a call from someone with a strong Indian accent claiming to be from O2, saying they had a discount offer. I pretended to be interested just to see what they’d do next. Soon after, they said they’d send a security code and asked me to share it back. Luckily, I’m aware that if you hand over that code, they can hijack your account, change your passwords and basically take over your phone, emails, bank details - the lot. Massive scam, be very careful!

I told them O2 never asks for those codes and the texts clearly say not to share them with anyone, not even O2. After that, they got really rude and hung up on me. Classic O2 scam!

Had a dodgy call from someone claiming to be O2. I decided to humour them for a bit. They asked me about my phone, so I said it was a Nokia 3310. Then they wanted to know my network, I said One2one. When asked how much I pay monthly, I jokingly said I just put on a £2.50 top-up card. That’s when they lost it, told me to get lost and ended the call!
