For the past couple weeks, I've been getting calls on both my mobile (which is now blocked) and my home phone, usually once or twice a day. Most times there’s silence, or they just drop the call. If you do get one of these calls, I reckon it’s best to say there’s been a deadly accident - sounds grim, but they back off quick. Haven’t been able to try it myself yet with these pesky scammers.

I got a call regarding a car crash I supposedly had, but the date and all the details were completely off. They kept saying a third party was lightly hurt and owed some money they needed to collect. I quickly told them it was wrong and ended the call. Since then, they’ve rang me twice each day. My insurance company confirmed to me that it’s a scam.
