A rather peculiar call came through from someone claiming that our Internet Service Provider had supposedly forwarded error messages about malware on our PC straight to them. We knew right away that this was pure nonsense. The caller then insisted we hop online and use some sort of remote assistance so she could illustrate the so-called issues on our device and remove them. The audacity! It felt like we were part of a bad comedy sketch. Quite frankly, it was clear as day that this was a ruse to gain unauthorised access to our computer and potentially introduce some nasty viruses!
