Total con job pretending to be from some support firm warning you about viruses on your computer. They say they'll sort it out, but when I pretended to go along with it, being an IT guy and coder myself, it was obvious they just wanted to control my PC. The annoying bit is they've bombarded my home phone with these calls, and now they’ve started ringing my work line, which clearly belongs to an IT company. All the callers spoke English with an Indian accent, and the 0203 area code looks UK but is actually from outside the country - a trick scammers from Nigeria have been using forever. Steer clear and don’t follow any of their instructions!

My mum, who knows nothing about computers, got loads of calls today from these people telling her to do stuff on the computer to check for viruses. When she said I was the one to speak to since I know a bit about computers, they just hung up straight away. Feels like some kinda scam or maybe they’re trying to hack into computers or something?
