I got a call from 02030198844 where a lady’s voice came through, but it was quite noisy in the background. She started with “how are you today,” and when I asked who it was, she replied with something like “I’m calling about maintenance.” I didn’t bother listening further and just ended the call, then blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from some scammer saying my direct debit with Sky's stopped. Told her I was actually with Virgin (which isn’t true), and she just hung up. Then, a couple of hours later, the same number rings again - turns out it was really Virgin, saying my direct debit was cancelled. These lot don’t know when to give up, haha!

They rang up trying to flog me a new TV cover for £99, claiming it would replace the one I supposedly had. Problem is, I don’t have any cover at all. I just let them talk on and on, then asked them how they'd cancel the cover I never even had. That’s when they suddenly cut me off and hung up.

Got a phone call off some bloke called Dexter, with a kinda American accent. He was going on about a TV warranty and being a subscriber or something. I just told him to shove off! Haven't heard from him since.

I got a call from someone called "Marshall". He says my TV’s maintenance contract is nearly up. I told him there’s no way I even own a telly. He quickly apologised and ended the call. Annoying as it was, he did sound polite enough.

I got a call from a really nice woman who was convinced I’d got loft insulation and wanted to discuss the insurance for it. After watching that BBC Panorama programme recently, I decided to mess around a bit with her. In the end, she just cut me off out of the blue. I can’t help but think I probably got on her nerves! Honestly, it’s a bit entertaining having a chat when you’re home alone. Might need to get better at speaking to folks I don’t know. 😜🤪🤪

Had a call from someone about my TV service, claiming they were going to cancel my direct debit straight away. Then they tried to push me into some sort of yearly payment plan, like £99 or £90 per year, saying I could even split it into 2 or 3 instalments. They wanted my debit card info too. Sounds like a total rip-off, so watch out for this kind of scam!

Been getting random calls for a few days now, even though I’m signed up to the telephone preference service. Let the phone ring and decided to call back, but it just went straight to voicemail. Annoying that I’m still getting these sales calls when I shouldn’t be.

This scam uses the usual tricks to try and get your bank info, pretty much the way most of them do.

Got calls from this number five times today. First three calls just rang out, no one picked up - seemed like an automated thing. On the fourth call, some bloke said my TV maintenance insurance had expired. I told him I don’t actually have any insurance with them, so it can’t be expired. He just said sorry for disturbing me. Then it rang once more but no one answered again. I’d already blocked the number using BT’s blocking feature after the very first ring, so how on earth are they still getting through?

Got a call earlier from 0203 019 8844, some man who said his name was John. He was trying to sell me insurance for my home gadgets like TVs, washing machines, cookers and all that. I told him I wasn’t interested at all, but he kept going on and on. In the end, I had to get a bit annoyed and told him straight, “I’m hanging up now,” and then I did. He might’ve had a Scottish accent, but I’m not totally sure. I’ve blocked the number now, but it’s mad how many calls from this number are mentioned on this website, all with different pitches.
