Somebody rang me up using my name, saying I'd been in a car crash and wanted me to say when it took place. I asked for more info but they couldn’t give me any, just said they got my details from some national road accident organisation. I pressed further about how they got my number. She said sorry and promised to remove my contact from their list immediately.

A person rang me at my house on a Sunday and then again on my mobile the next Tuesday, mentioning a car crash they claimed I was part of. They insisted I was driving a BMW. I don't own a BMW, don’t drive at all, and definitely wasn’t in any accident. It’s really worrying that they have my name, address, and phone number. On the Tuesday call, they transferred me to some manager, and when I tried to explain, the call just got cut off with no explanation.
