I’ve just had the dubious pleasure of receiving a call that reeked of a scam. The female voice on the other end struck me as decidedly robotic, as if it was just a playback triggered by my replies. She kicked things off with the typical spiel, “Have you had an accident recently?” To which I replied, “No.” Then, almost mechanically, she chirped, “I’ll pass you on to my manager for assistance.” At that point, I couldn’t be bothered to hear any more nonsense, so I simply hung up and promptly added the number to my block list.
