020 3011 0672 I got a call from someone claiming to be British Gas saying there was an issue with my gas meter not sending automatic readings and they needed to send an engineer out. The way they talked didn't sound professional at all. Also, my gas meter actually doesn’t send readings automatically, even though I’m with British Gas. I guess lots of others are in the same boat though.

I answered a couple questions, but felt something was off, so told him I’m wary of sharing details over the phone and asked for an email. He said, "I already have all your details," which was honestly a bit creepy! Ended the call straight away. They rang again twice after but I just ignored it.

This number rings our tiny business pretty much daily. We’ve tried not answering, told them we don’t need their service, and nicely asked them to take us off their call lists. Now we’ve decided to just have a bit of fun with it - saying ‘hi’ repeatedly and chatting to the caller in German, asking if they understand it. I've been receiving numerous calls from a persistent individual named Kevin, who claims to be an Indian gentleman. He has contacted me approximately 50 times with incessant offers of cheaper line rental and insistence on explaining the terms and conditions. After we blocked the initial number he called from (originating in Egypt), he continues to find ways to contact us. I have attempted various methods to deter him, such as leaving the phone off the hook, briefly picking up and hanging up, and outright ignoring him, yet he persists. Today, in frustration, I gave him an ultimatum which angered him. I eventually terminated the conversation, hoping that it would mark the end of his calls.
I'm curious to understand the motivations behind such persistent behavior. Can anyone shed light on this matter?

Haha, what a load of rubbish. They claimed to be calling from "London" coz its summer there but wouldn't admit what they were after or trying to push on me. They kept saying it wasnt a sales call, so I messed around with them for a good 6 minutes till they just gave in and ended the call. Proper cheeky!

I was woken up by a phone call from this number at 5:30 am. When I inquired about the time, the man hung up abruptly. According to the caller ID, it indicated that he was calling from Connecticut.

Earlier today, I received a call from this phone number. Within a few seconds, a gentleman introduced himself and claimed that he could help me reduce costs on my business landline. He mentioned that he acquired my number from ThomsonLocal. In my advertisements, I use a virtual landline number that redirects calls to my mobile. Since I rarely use my landline to make calls, I promptly ended the conversation and proceeded to block the caller's number on my mobile device.

I was keen to have a word with the proprietor of the establishment. The person I spoke to informed me that he wasn’t present at that particular location but offered another number to get in touch.
