I received two calls from a bloke named Paul. Unfortunately, I was tied up at that moment, so I asked him to ring me back. The trouble is, I had no idea which Paul it was, and since he never got back to me, I decided to return the call. A woman answered and claimed to be from Symantec. She mentioned that whoever had initially tried to reach me would be in touch later, but then she abruptly ended the call. Quite odd, really!

A call came through from this number around half three on Wednesday, 26th August 2009. Since I didn’t recognise the number, I opted to ignore it, especially as I was on the road at the time. The caller didn’t leave any message, which usually suggests it's just a promotional call rather than someone looking to engage with us seriously. So, for us, it’s just another missed call!

Received a call at 13:41 on the 24th of February, 2010. There was no voicemail left, and I haven't a clue who it could be. Since we subscribed to the MessageLabs email newsletter, it seems quite probable this was a sales call from them, just as Jim and Bob suggested.

Received a call at 13:41 on the 24th of February, 2010. There was no message left and the number wasn’t familiar to me. Given that we subscribe to the MessageLabs newsletter, it seems plausible that it might be a sales pitch associated with them, as both Jim and Bob have indicated. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

These folks are a bunch of right muppets. It turns out that what we're dealing with here is Symantec acting on behalf of MessageLabs, which these individuals have recently acquired.
