What a nuisance! Just got yet another dodgy automated call, this time from a number I didn’t recognise (8 o’clock on a Monday morning, no less!). It’s the same old script each time, always claiming to be from my "Local Energy Advisor," though they keep changing the name they use. It’s clearly all a scam. The trouble is, since it’s not a real person making the calls, the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is powerless to assist. However, I've discovered that Which? has a way to report these scams on their site - a great resource! Don’t forget you can also notify the Information Commissioner's Office; easily found online. If we all take a moment to report these pesky intrusions, it’ll help highlight how vast this issue really is.

It just rang again moments ago, but I couldn't reach the phone in time before it stopped.

The phone rang a couple of times before it fell silent. I hardly had a moment to grab it before it stopped. Unfortunately, it was just after 9 in the morning, and I ended up waking my elderly mum with the ringing.
