I reckon these individuals were attempting to fish for personal data. A woman with an Asian accent rang me up from this number, urging me to fill out a lifestyle questionnaire. I kindly requested that she take me off their list and refrain from calling again.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the government, saying they needed to update my insurance details. I asked them to name the insurance companies they were talking about and suddenly they went dead silent. I just burst out laughing and told them they were a proper scammer. Then, they rang me back twice just to hurl insults down the phone. Was quite amusing to be honest, but seriously, don’t waste your time picking up if you get a call like that!

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent, called himself George. He said he was based in the UK and was doing a survey. Felt a bit iffy about it, so I didn't share any info with him. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.

from my experience, when the phone stops after about 4 or 5 rings, it’s often one of those cold calls.
