2 yearsGot a call on my mobile earlier from a number I didn’t recognise. Didn’t answer and let it ring through to voicemail but there was nothing left. Tried looking up the number online but no luck, so I’m guessing it’s probably a scam or something dodgy.7 yearsToday, I received a rather suspect call from this number claiming that I was due a £2000 compensation for a car accident. Naturally, I hung up immediately, but to my surprise, shortly after, my phone erupted with another 20 missed calls from various places like London, Reading, Winchester, and Manchester. When I tried to return the calls, I found that some of the numbers were simply non-existent - invalid altogether! It seems these scams never cease. Apparently, the caller was from India.LondonReadingWinchesterManchesterIndia7 yearsI've been inundated with calls about some so-called car accident and injury claims. They mentioned something about filing a claim with a supposed government body-the MIB, which is actually not affiliated with the government at all. The caller claimed he was in Manchester but dialled me from a London number. It felt like I was caught in a loop of their ‘validation department’, endlessly trying to ascertain their details while they hinted at having my information. The chap on the line had a rather confrontational Indian accent, which only added to the oddity of the exchange. When I probed them about the phone number, their location, or the firm's registration details, they just put me on hold and instructed me to check my phone. Here’s a condensed version of our chat: "I need to confirm your information." "What information do you require?" "Your information?" "What have you got?" "This is about the validation department." "So you don’t actually know who I am... just my number?" And it went on like that. The caller claimed to be from Meovice.co.uk. Quite the bizarre conversation!MIBManchesterLondonMeovice. co. uk7 yearsI couldn't put it any clearer - this caller appears to be running a scam from India.India7 yearsI received a missed call, so I decided to ring the number back. There was no ringing tone, but rather an abrupt message stating that I’d been involved in an accident. Naturally, I was puzzled and inquired which accident they were referring to. The gentleman, who I assume was of Asian descent-perhaps Indian-dismissively remarked that I clearly didn’t grasp English well, before hanging up on me. Quite a strange experience, to say the least!7 yearsI received a rather curious call from a chap with a thick Asian accent, inquiring about an accident of mine. Strangely enough, I had received a call earlier that same day from a woman on 01834 051916, who was also probing me regarding a supposed accident. When I challenged her by saying, “Do you think anyone actually believes this nonsense?” she quickly replied, “I’ll transfer you to…” and then connected me to someone at 020 3006 2121. Quite the coincidence, don’t you think?7 yearsGot a rather bothersome call from 01834 051916, inquiring about an accident that I’ve never been involved in. It's quite annoying!7 yearsOn the evening of 17th October, my phone was inundated with calls from a gentleman with an Indian accent. I attempted to avoid conversation, but they persisted in hanging up and redialling time and again. After a rather frustrating back-and-forth, I eventually told them firmly to stop calling me. Despite this, I received yet another call this evening on the 18th. I've now taken the step to block the number. Caller ID shows: 02030062121.7 yearsReceived an annoying call from 02030062121. Definitely not impressed!7 yearsReceived a dodgy call masquerading as car insurance.
