Someone called pretending I was dead from a car crash I supposedly had. They said to get in touch with my closest relatives. Definitely sounded fishy to me!

i got a call about some car crash. when i tried to find out who was calling, they just ended the call abruptly.

got a call the other day - no one said a word. think about older folks on their own, that could be proper upsetting. figured ofcom would’ve cracked down by now, but they don’t seem bothered or maybe just lazy. must be nice getting paid no matter what when the rest of us work hard. is there anyone at ofcom out there who can prove me wrong?

Received a call today at ten to six. Unfortunately, I didn’t pick up, and I’ve no idea who it was.

Picked up the phone and they just hung up straight away. Pretty sure it's one of those scams where if you ring back you end up with a massive bill. Telecom companies really ought to have some kind of system in place to stop these dodgy calls from happening.

I'm a bit unsure if this was a scam or not since there wasn't any voicemail left and the number doesn't ring any bells. A couple of weeks ago I got annoyed by a call from 01788435563 around 10:30 in the morning too, seems like they enjoy calling at that time?

I was driving when an unfamiliar number called me, so I decided not to pick up. They didn’t leave any voicemail either.

I didn’t pick up the phone and there wasn’t any voicemail left either. I reckon it might’ve been about that car crash I was in since I’ve had calls like it before. These calls are so annoying. I get calls on my landline like this quite regularly, and now it seems like they’ve started ringing my mobile too, maybe just guessing numbers until someone finally picks up.

Got a call out of the blue from some dodgy firm, asking if I’d had any accidents in the past three years. I joked about whether I could claim for stubbing my toe on the bath or maybe something with my landlord. Pretty much as soon as I said that, they just cut me off. Honestly, best just to ignore calls like that.
