Phone number ☎️ 02030045597 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance caller falsely claiming affiliation with the genuine Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Numerous complainants describe silent calls that abruptly disconnect or hang up when answered, with no legitimate follow-up. Callers often pressure recipients into purchasing costly call-blocking devices or subscriptions, sometimes targeting vulnerable individuals, including the elderly. Many have experienced rude or threatening responses when challenging the calls or refusing to engage. Attempts to call back result in automated messages stating the number is not in service. The company behind these calls uses misleading names such as "Telecom Protection Service" and operates unscrupulously, exploiting the confusion around TPS to scam people. It is advised not to engage, not to provide personal or payment details, and to report these calls to official regulators.

What can we do to put an end to these incessant, tedious silent calls that seem to plague us?

I've received numerous calls from this particular number on my phone. Each time I answered, there was nothing but silence on the other end. Intrigued, I decided to ring it back using two separate landlines. Strangely enough, on both attempts, I was met with a recorded message stating, "The number you've dialled is not currently in service. Please verify the number and try again. Farewell."

This particular number has been ringing my dad repeatedly. Thankfully, his live-in carer is on the ball and takes the calls, informing them that they should be contacting me instead and provides them with my phone number. However, the caller has taken on a rather impolite demeanor, persistently questioning why they can only speak to the carer. I attempted to return the call, only to be greeted by a woman with a distinctly American accent who insisted that the number was unrecognised...

As soon as I mentioned that I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service, they abruptly hung up. It’s quite funny, really, considering they’d just been probing me about how they obtained my number in the first place!

I got a rather unsettling phone call today regarding a so-called TPS contract, and when I questioned the legitimacy of their demands for cash, the caller became quite aggressive. They abruptly told me to 'sod off' before hanging up. Quite alarming, really!

I've received countless calls from this number; they always ask for me by name, then suddenly go silent before disconnecting. Quite odd, really!

WATCH OUT - THIS ISN’T THE TPS YOU THINK IT IS! The genuine "free" TPS refers to the "Telephone Preference Service",
NOT the Telephone PROTECTION Service. It's a cleverly crafted name that could easily mislead unsuspecting individuals. Stay vigilant!

I received a call from someone claiming to represent the Telephone Preference Service, insisting they could "112%" assure me I wouldn’t be bothered by pesky calls any longer. I found that remark rather odd, but it took a wild turn when the chap revealed they would be shadowing me round the clock for the following fortnight. When I inquired why such extreme measures were needed, he chuckled and muttered something about a conspiracy before abruptly ending the call. Absolutely bonkers!

A few weeks back, I had an intriguing phone call from a rather articulate lady who inquired if I was indeed myself, using my name. I confirmed with a "yes," but then, oddly enough, there was nothing but silence on the other end. After repeating "hello" a couple of times, still no response, and then I could hear the unmistakable sound of someone putting down the phone. Quite the peculiar experience!

I decided to confront the caller-Shannon was her name, or so she claimed-about the number that popped up on my caller ID, which happens to be a notorious culprit behind the incessant nuisance calls I've been bombarded with. "Is that so?" she retorted, then proceeded to prattle on about how it was all down to the calling software they supposedly "share" with BT. Absolute nonsense, if you ask me! These sorts of companies need to be shut down for their shady practices alone, regardless of whether they’ve got anything of genuine value to provide.

A right charlatan rang my 91-year-old pal the other day. Luckily, she wasn’t wearing her hearing aids at that moment and handed me the phone. I dread to think what might have happened if she'd been able to hear the call-she might have unwittingly handed over her bank information, believing it would put an end to the incessant barrage of calls she keeps getting. It’s high time that the authorities and BT take a proper look at these dastardly scams!

I've received several calls from this number lately. My phone is pretty sorted; I've got all my family, mates, and essential contacts stored right in the phone's directory, and they each have their own special ring tone. If it's not someone in my inner circle, they're met with a completely different sound, and I just let it slide. If it's really important, they should drop a message, but these callers never do. Besides, my nearest and dearest already have my mobile number, so we're covered for any urgent matters.

Yet again, I received a call from this number today at precisely 13:54. Given that I work night shifts, you can imagine how terribly frustrating it is to be pestered by this caller, particularly around the same time at least once a month, and on occasion, even weekly. The worst stretch I’ve had was three consecutive days of interruptions! I've decided it’s high time to keep a record of these phone calls. I’ve always intended to do so, but just when I think the nuisance has finally ceased, they pop up again as they did today. Strangely enough, when I pick up, I’m greeted with silence, and if I attempt to return the call, I’m met with a pre-recorded message from an American woman stating that the number isn't in service. Quite the mystery, isn’t it?

Had a female on the line who claimed she was aware of our struggle with annoying calls. I told her we were experiencing one at that very moment! She then began to ramble on about how she and her team could assist in putting an end to these calls... so I promptly hung up. This number appeared when I dialled 1471.

I had a rather courteous gentleman named Alex get in touch with me, mentioning that he was aware I'd been bombarded with unsolicited calls. He claimed his firm had a solution in the form of a call-blocking device that could sort out silent and international calls-a notch above the usual TPS service, at a modest weekly fee that piled up to a one-off cost of £99.99. He even provided me with their premium customer service number, 08719891414, and assured me there was a cooling-off period if I needed it. When he queried whether I’d prefer to pay by Visa or MasterCard, I said I’d need to mull it over and would ring their number back if I chose to go ahead. He acknowledged this with a simple "okay," and we wrapped up the conversation. Yet, given that it was itself an unsolicited contact asking for money, I have my reservations about its legitimacy.

I had a rather distressing experience with these rogue callers that left my mum in tears while I attempted to extract her bank information to put an end to these pesky nuisance calls. Honestly, what a bunch of nefarious individuals!

Telecom Protection Service, what a bunch of fraudsters! My poor old mother-in-law has just been taken for £79.99 for one of their pathetic gadgets. I always warned her to steer clear of anyone who gives her a ring out of the blue, yet she fell for it after receiving an annoying call ten minutes prior. They had the audacity to claim, "We see you're dealing with unwanted calls." Quite the coincidence, isn’t it? Clearly, they were the ones nattering away just before their sales pitch. It’s outrageous how they target the elderly and those who are more vulnerable, milking them for every penny. We’re going to look into whether there’s any legal action we can take against these deceitful tricksters and do everything possible to hold them accountable.

It's quite similar to what others have noted. Using the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) as a loophole feels rather underhanded, to say the least. When I confronted her about her tactics, which were no different from your common cold caller, she quickly retreated. It appears that the TPS doesn’t effectively block all unwanted calls, particularly those pesky international ones originating from distant call centres. Honestly, without the TPS in place, I suspect we'd be inundated with even more of these intrusive calls.

I received a call earlier today while I was out and about, but my son managed to take the message. They mentioned they'd reach out again. Sure enough, they did ring me back, but by the time I got to the phone, they had already disconnected! I thought I'd try my luck and call the number back, only to be greeted by a woman with a distinctly American accent telling me that the number was no longer in service! How baffling!

I received a phone call from Natasha at 17:02, and she expressed her concern regarding the vast number of nuisance marketing calls our number has been inundated with. She proceeded to explain that they would enhance our number’s protection to effectively curb such interruptions for good. When I probed her about who had flagged this issue from my household, or whether this was merely another unsolicited call, she mentioned there had been numerous complaints originating from our postcode. To clarify my point, I stated that it seemed like a cold call to me, as the legitimate Telephone Preference Service would never engage in such practices. The young lady became rather defensive, insisting that she was merely performing her duties and that this wasn’t a deceitful attempt, promising it would indeed make a difference. It’s rather disheartening to think that out there, people feel compelled to work in call centres that engage in questionable practices.

I received a rather annoying phone call earlier today, attempting to sell me a service to block these pesky calls for £49.99 annually! While it's a tad more affordable than what others have mentioned, I'm simply not interested in shelling out cash to stop unwanted calls. I prefer to just inform the telemarketers myself that I'm not interested in whatever they're peddling.

Like many others sharing their experience, I too received an unexpected call from this number. The 020 code indicates it's from Greater London, and I’ve gathered from this platform that they're a sham operation, misleadingly suggesting they have ties to the legitimate TPS.

I’ve received a rather dubious call from this number, claiming to represent the Telecom Protection Service, not the Telephone Preference Service. They were attempting to convince me to part with 50 pence a week to put an end to nuisance calls. When I pressed the caller about whether this was indeed a cold call, she finally confessed that it was! That was the final straw for me, and I wrapped up the call immediately.

I recently had a chat with a lass named Laura from Tps, and she mentioned that there’s been a surge of nuisance calls around here. She seemed eager to assist in getting rid of them. However, when I questioned her motives, she simply replied that it was no bother if I wasn’t keen on pursuing it. Quite dodgy, if you ask me! After a bit of digging, I popped over to the Tps website and discovered that they don’t engage in cold calling at all. So, best be on your guard, folks!

I recently received a rather dodgy call from someone claiming to be Liam, supposedly representing the TPS. He mentioned that he'd observed I was getting an unusual number of nuisance calls and proceeded to propose some kind of premium service for the hefty sum of £79.99. When I inquired whether I could verify this on the TPS website, he assured me that it would all be available there. While he wasn’t particularly aggressive, it was clear he wasn't being honest. Quite the shady operation, I must say!
