Just got a call, but all I heard was complete silence!

As soon as I picked up, there was an automated voice saying a case was filed against my IP address and to press 1 to talk to an officer. I got calls like this yesterday too, from an Indian number, with almost the same recorded message.

Been getting loads of calls from this blocked number, really annoying! Keeps ringing constantly like they won’t give up. Total hassle.

I got a call from this number and picked up, but it just hung up after a few seconds. Then someone with an Asian accent tried talking, but I didn’t say anything. Fingers crossed I don’t get charged for it. Sounds like spam to me.

On Thurs Aug 16 around 1:46pm, I picked up and simply said “Hello”. There was a pause of about 6 seconds before a bloke finally said “hello” back. I switched the call to loudspeaker and stayed quiet, didn’t say a word. The guy said “hello” a few more times but got no reply from me. The line stayed dead silent for like a minute and 15 seconds before the caller ended it. Honestly, these scam callers are just trying to stir shit and cause trouble.

On Thursday 16th August around 1:46 in the afternoon, I picked up the phone and greeted with “Hello.” After a pause lasting about 6 seconds, a man replied with “hello”. I switched the call to loudspeaker but didn’t say a word after that. The bloke said “hello” a few more times, trying to get a response. We then had over a minute of complete silence before the call was ended by the other person. These scammers are just stirring up trouble and spreading negativity.

Received a voicemail on my answering machine claiming to be from the Action Fraud Department. They urged me to press 1 to connect with a case officer regarding some matter. I’m quite certain it’s a scam, so I've decided to disregard it entirely.

I let my voicemail take over and didn’t leave a message. I’ve stopped picking up the phone since nearly every call is from some dodgy scammer. It’s really getting on my nerves and stressing me out.

This morning, I received a rather unsettling call from this number, where the individual claimed there was a warrant out for my arrest due to alleged computer fraud. Given that I have minimal knowledge about technology, I was quite taken aback and felt the need to heed his instructions as he urged me to switch on my computer, log in, and execute a certain program for verification. It was at that moment an alarm bell started ringing in my head. I told him to hang on while I fetched my neighbour, who happens to be an officer. Upon my return, however, the line had gone dead, leading me to believe it was a scam of sorts. I took the precaution of reporting it to the police, who concurred that it's likely a fraudulent attempt. The entire experience was quite distressing, and I still feel somewhat rattled. I sincerely wish there were more measures in place to thwart these deceitful individuals who target vulnerable folks, especially those who may be unwell, like myself.

The call started with a guy saying, “Hello, I’m ringing regarding some finance being released from your property.” I quickly told him he had the wrong number and we don’t do unsolicited calls. Then he insisted he just needed bank details to send some money, like I wouldn’t get it. I replied that this number actually goes straight to the fraud department and asked if that’s who he wanted. Strange enough, he just hung up. I blocked the number after that. The caller sounded like a confident Asian man, quite pushy at first.

Got a call meant for someone who passed away like 15 years ago! When I asked who he was, I refused to say who I was. He wanted to know why I wouldn't tell him. I asked him to take the number off under GDPR rules, but he flat out refused and started swearing at me, really angry and didn't seem to care if I complained or not.

I received a rather concerning message on my voicemail regarding some sort of fraud. They instructed me to press 1 for further details about the case, and I must admit, it’s left me in a bit of a tizzy. When I attempted to return the call, the line went completely silent. Feeling a tad anxious about the whole situation, to be honest!

I got a call from that very same number today, and it was some sort of pre-recorded message claiming to be from the Action Fraud Department. It instructed me to press 1 if I wanted to discuss my case with a Case Officer. Honestly, it has all the hallmarks of a scam.
