13 yearsWhen Mum inquired about the purpose of needing her information, she received a call from this number that was highly offensive and ill-mannered.Mum13 yearsI've been receiving numerous calls from the number 02024568636, sometimes as frequently as 2 or 3 times a day! The individuals on the other end are making claims that I can reclaim bank charges. Despite expressing my disinterest and requesting to be removed from their database, they continue to call. During the most recent call about an hour ago, I became frustrated and warned them that I would file a formal complaint if they didn't remove my information immediately. The man on the phone (whose name I didn't take seriously, as it was obviously fake!) then began addressing me with terms like 'honey' and 'darling' in an attempt to calm me down, which only further irritated me! It's clear these are scammers! On another occasion, I received a call from the same number informing me about a supposed serious virus on my Windows PC. I informed the caller that my husband works in IT and we haven't been using Windows for years; we are Linux users.13 yearsToday, I received three phone calls, and on each occasion, the callers abruptly hung up as soon as I picked up. During the final call, I explicitly asked them to refrain from calling me again.13 yearsI had a prank call that ended abruptly as soon as I answered with "Hello."13 yearsWe received a call on our unlisted landline number, and surprisingly, the caller knew my wife's name. They claimed to be from our bank and informed us that we were eligible for a refund on our bank charges. However, since we have never incurred any bank charges, my wife asked them to clarify which bank they were representing. Interestingly enough, as soon as she asked this question, they abruptly ended the call.13 yearsReceived a call from a male with an Indian or Pakistani accent claiming to be offering a refund of charges. When I asked for his identification, he introduced himself as David Brown from the UK Government repayment centre located in Brighton. He was aware of my address, which made me slightly concerned. He then proceeded to ask for my date of birth and the name of my bank. Additionally, he requested that I retrieve my bank card and disclose the first six digits aloud, followed by the remaining numbers. I refused and requested him to provide the numbers instead. Subsequently, I ended the call. Immediately after, he called back but my husband picked up this time and instructed him not to phone us again. Thankfully, we haven't received any further calls from him. I have already reported this incident to the National Fraud Helpline for investigation.David BrownUKBrightonNational Fraud Helpline13 yearsI received no response upon greeting.13 yearsI received a phone call from this number, and the person on the other end requested my banking information. To test their authenticity, I provided them with the wrong date of birth and informed them that I had a Lloyds TSB account. They proceeded to tell me the number on my bank card and asked for confirmation. I immediately realized it was a fraudulent call, as I do not have a Lloyds/TSB account and never have. Consequently, I promptly ended the call. They requested my bank details to proceed with the refund. They also asked whether I preferred to receive a cheque or have the payment directly transferred into my bank account. When I inquired about which bank was involved and how much the refund would be, they abruptly ended the call, implying that I wasn't interested. They asked for my mother, who happened to be unavailable at the time. Upon realizing that I was her daughter, the caller proceeded to ask me something which I couldn't fully understand due to a poor connection causing crackling sounds. I politely asked them to repeat their question. Unbelievably, they then inquired about the color of my private area, asking whether it was red or pink. I'm uncertain about what steps to take next.13 yearsThey hung up as soon as I greeted them.13 yearsThis is definitely a scam.
