A woman rang me claiming to be representing Microsoft, insisting that my computer was infected with viruses. She went on to ask me to power up my machine and provide my IP address so she could remotely assist me in eradicating the supposed virus. I couldn’t help but wonder-if she really didn’t have access to my IP, how on earth could she determine it was my device in trouble? I firmly told her it sounded like a scam and informed her that I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, making her call quite illegal. She ended the conversation in a hurry.

Got a call at 7 AM, but nobody said a word. Pretty strange.

Disregard my previous note; I misspoke. It turns out this is indeed a scam. They appeared quite polished in their approach, but it's vital to trust your intuition. I really ought to have done so. :(

At first, I was convinced it was a scam when I received a call from Microsoft. However, they conducted several security verifications to confirm their identity and even demonstrated the issues occurring on my computer. It turned out to be the real deal! I observed as they successfully resolved the problems on my machine.

This number rings me up round 6 times daily. One time, my missus picked up by accident and all she got was silence. Next time I'm free, I might just answer and keep them talking for an hour, asking daft questions and giving silly replies without even looking at my PC. Might even have a go at tricking them into giving their bank info by saying I want to move my savings to them for safekeeping in case hackers target my account.

I had a call from a 020 number but the person on the other end didn’t say a word. These 020 calls are sketchy, probably fake. It’s likely some sort of scam - maybe phishing or one of those irritating fraudsters trying to trick you into giving access to your computer. Just ignore and don’t hand over any info. Trust me on this one!

For the past week, I've been receiving calls multiple times each day, and I’ve taken to simply ignoring them. It's become quite bothersome, to put it mildly!

I've received numerous calls at all sorts of hours-early in the morning, around lunch, and even in the evening. I answered once, only to find out it was irrelevant to me altogether. We really ought to put a stop to this before others fall victim to any potential scams.

I keep getting calls from this number but I never pick up when it shows on my phone. There really should be some strict rules and big fines to stop these scammers from bothering us constantly.

I received a call from this number at precisely 7:24 in the morning today, on the 14th of May, 2018. Interestingly, as soon as I picked up, the line went dead, and the caller had already disconnected. Quite peculiar, really!

Got woke up way too early by a couple of silent calls, didn’t say a word though. Bet they changed their mind after hearing my grumpy Scottish accent at quarter to seven!

Looks like this number is from some place in Asia, and whoever is on the other end is trying to trick you into giving away your personal details to scam you. Best thing to do? Don’t pick up, just block it right away.

This morning I got a call warning that my computer access would be cut off if I didn’t log in right away so they could "sort out" some issue. I just ended the call straight away and blocked the number after. Sounds really dodgy to me.

This morning, I received a call purporting to be from Windows, warning me that my computer would be shutting down within the next 48 hours if I didn't engage with them. Quite curious, I decided to hang up instead. Let’s see what unfolds!

MY TAKE: NEVER pick up calls from any number beginning with 020. More often than not, it's a call from some international Asian phone operator. Most times it's a sales team, but sometimes it could be scammers trying to pull a trick. Just be careful with those calls!

So at first, this lady with an Asian accent started off all serious about me ignoring their alerts. Then, out of nowhere, a bloke takes over the call and when I mention that Windows don’t do cold calls, he basically tells me to SHUT UP, not once, but twice! Honestly, haven't cracked up that much in a long time. Fingers crossed they call me again soon :)

I've received three calls from this number. The first ring was rather early at 7 in the morning, and the subsequent two were also at the crack of dawn the next day. The caller mentioned that I had supposedly been sent a message to my computer or laptop, which I clearly hadn’t responded to. When I probed a bit deeper, she seemed completely stumped about whether I even owned a computer, only that I apparently used Microsoft products. Seems dodgy to me-how on earth would she even have my landline otherwise?

They try to scare you saying your computer’s been hacked. then they say they’re some IT specialists or from a big company offering to protect your computer. Next thing is, they’ll want your bank card info. Whatever you do, don’t give it to them or you’ll end up getting ripped off.

Got a call around 11:10 this morning from a woman with an Asian accent. She said I’d missed some urgent messages on my computer and warned that if I didn’t take action, my computer could get damaged. I just told her, “Sorry, I don’t buy it,” and ended the call straight away.

I’ve been getting calls from these individuals multiple times each day. Typically, I ignore them, but today I finally picked up. I told the caller not to ring me again, to which she cheekily responded, "Why not?" It’s absolutely outrageous! There needs to be action taken; no one should have to endure these incessant calls from scammers pretending there’s an issue with their computer or tablet. This nonsense has to stop!
