6 yearsGot a call about an extended warranty for my washing machine. The phone never rang properly at first - I only heard anything after answering, which always rings alarm bells for me. There was some kind of background noise like a call centre, then a bloke with a South Asian accent came on, used my full name and address, saying he was from Domestic & General about my washing machine warranty. I tried telling him he’d actually reached a helpline for call centre staff suffering abuse and asked how I could assist him, but he just hung up before I could finish.
