This might possibly have originated from London, but I reckon it's more likely a spoof. The call features a robotic voice, which sounds like a human has recorded the message - it’s always the same routine: "This is a call from British Telecom," warning me that my internet service is on the verge of being terminated, and then prompting me to press either 1 or 2 to either avert the disconnection or to have a chat with an engineer. It’s so obvious and rather daft, especially as I don’t even have an account with BT! It's clearly a scam, designed to coax me into dialling a number that leads to a premium rate line. No chance am I falling for that! It’s frustrating because it seems like a different number calls every single time.
