No one actually rang me, but I got sent a letter that said this was the contact number for British Telecom. The letter claimed I owed them £1050.80 for an account I supposedly closed ages ago. It also said the debt had been passed on to a company named Lowell, who would handle the payment arrangements. The letter from Lowell was included as well. I've not been with BT for over 3 years and as far as I know, I don’t owe them anything.

Got a text reminding me about a hospital appointment, with a number to ring if I wanted to reschedule. How did they find out about my appointment? The only thing I can think of is that the hospital must have called my mobile and left a voicemail. Could my phone have been compromised somehow?

Got a ring from these jokers just now. Some woman claiming she was with a fraud unit, so I asked which one exactly, like a bank or what. She said internet fraud team. I pressed again, asking which bank she was with, and she said it wasn’t any bank. I said, so it’s PayPal or some online payment place? She kept saying she was from internet fraud. Reporting this lot to Ofcom straight away.

This time they said it was some sort of lifestyle survey. The guy sounded Asian and when I mentioned TPS, he seemed confused and heard it as 2PS or something. Once I explained it was about telephone preferences, he got it and politely hung up.

Answered the phone and the line was awful, sounded like it was coming from abroad. The person claimed it was a confirmation call about an accident I supposedly had. When I told them I had no clue what they meant and asked where they got my number, they just ended the call. This has happened twice today and I also got a similar call yesterday.

accident scam call from an indian guy who said his name was "george" (yeah right). he sounded real confident that I'd been in an accident, so I just played along to see where it went. then he passed me on to another indian bloke. I kept pretending until I got fed up and started winding him up - he was the one footing the bill, not me. eventually he just hung up, proper cheeky. haha.

there was a caller with an asian accent sayin they were following up on a car crash and asked for the name of the person involved. i told them they should already have that info if they’re following up tho. they said they didn’t have the names because of some data protection rules. i said alright, sounds dodgy but go ahead, just i’m not giving any names unless i’m sure it’s legit. then they just hung up.
