Since February, I've been getting these creepy calls eight times now, all from the same scary-sounding person. The first call really worried me because I had phoned the actual HMRC just a few days before and thought maybe I’d missed submitting my returns, especially as I’d just been out of hospital. The most recent scam call came from the number listed above. Before that, all the calls were from 0300 numbers, which I know HMRC use. Now when they call, I just block and ignore them, but honestly, it’s such a pain.

this number called me and said I had to press 1 straight away or else they’d register a case against me and i’d get arrested, sounded really dodgy to me.

Had a pretty similar thing happen to me. I didn't really pay much attention to the robo voice, just hit 1 without thinking. Ended up on this super noisy call centre line, and then they called me by my nickname which made me realise straight away it wasn’t HMRC. Luckily the call dropped after a bit, so I was fine.

Like everyone else here, I got a voicemail with a robotic voice telling me there's a tax fraud case against me and I needed to press 1 or they'd issue an arrest warrant. It set off all sorts of warning signs straight away. I quickly looked it up online and sure enough, this scam is gaining traction. It’s a nasty one, because people might panic and just press the button without thinking, not wanting to get in trouble with HMRC. I’m definitely sharing this on Facebook to warn others.

I got a call where they started threatening me with arrest out of the blue. Pretty scary stuff!

I got a voicemail from this number too. It was some automated voice saying I’d be arrested immediately for tax fraud if I didn’t press 1. Pretty much the same thing happened to me.

I just got a call from some automated message saying I allegedly have a warrant for tax fraud. Nah, that can't be right. I ended up blocking the number straight away.

Got a call saying HMRC has put a warrant out for me and if I don’t press 1, I’ll get arrested. Yeah right, no chance. Plus, the number wasn’t even from London.

Got a call from an automated voice claiming to be from HMRC, saying I was under investigation for fraud. They said if I didn’t hit 1, I’d have a warrant out for my arrest. Yeah right, not falling for that. Straight to blocked!
