The phone rang and I picked up, this Indian lady asked for my missus by name. I just couldn’t hold back and asked if she’s the undertaker, since my wife’s been flat out on the kitchen floor with a doctor here, dead for about an hour, waiting for someone to take her away. She seemed shocked when I said dead. I told her to stop calling and that I’m onto their scam. If they wanna play games, two can play at that!

Got a ring from this number earlier. The bloke on the line had an Asian accent and claimed it was about the government’s debt relief programme. He asked how much I owed to check if I was eligible. I struggled to catch what he was saying, and when I managed, he didn’t seem to get me either, so I had to keep repeating myself. Didn’t get any useful info from him and told him to remove my number from their list. Let’s see if they bother calling back.

This number rang me just yesterday, my first time getting a call from it. Back in December 2015, I got BT 8500 Call Blocking phones, and since then they've stopped over 20 annoying cold calls. Finally some quiet! Since the start of 2011, I’ve had more than 900 calls, some even from my own provider, which is crazy. Every month I forward a list of these calls to my local MP, who’s really trying to do something about it. Hopefully she succeeds. I’m on the TPS and used to be listed in the directory, plus I’m signed up with Trading Standards too. Paid around £50 for two phones and a bit extra for postage, but honestly, they’ve been well worth it for some silence.

For months now, my mum’s been getting calls from this number - sometimes up to seven times a day! Most of the time, when she picks up, there's just silence. Today, I took the call instead and it was a bloke with an African accent asking for my mum by name. I told him she wasn’t around and that he could talk to me since I’m family. Just as he was about to launch into his sales pitch, I told him I wasn’t interested and hung up. He rang back again, saying I should at least hear him out, but I told him straight I had no interest and ended the call once more. When he called a third time, I just answered and hung up immediately without giving him a chance to speak. This sort of behaviour isn’t right.

I cant believe people here haven't heard of those multicall things. Basically, a machine dials 10 numbers at once and whoever picks up first gets talked to. The other 9 dont get any response, so it kinda looks like no one’s home when they ring the others.

I keep getting calls from someone speaking with an Asian accent from the number 02000000000. They always ask for my name but I mess about and say something daft like "Elma Jay Chickens###e." After that, it goes silent for a bit and I can hear other people talking in the background. I reckon it’s another one of those scams where they try to get you to access your computer so they can nick your money. Honestly, the government should really clamp down on these annoying calls. Even though I’ve blocked a lot of numbers, some still keep slipping past.

My mum’s got these calls from some lot about 7 times now, all pestering her for her bank info. She’s proper worried to pick up the phone now. Seems like they’re going after older folk to try and get into their accounts. They claim to be from Millennium Talk, and the bloke, who called himself Adam Smith, sounded very foreign, like someone else said in a comment I seen.

Today, on 20/5/2015 around 9:58 in the morning GMT, I missed a call from this number. I chose not to pick up because I'd already had a scam call almost the same time the day before. The number looked suspicious to me, so I searched it on Google and uncovered loads of info about folks misusing it. Definitely a scam.

Today I got the same call about a cheque they’re supposedly sending me for £4,681. They said I had to pay £95 at my local PayPoint first. The woman on the phone said her name was Emily Wilson, but her accent was definitely from abroad. She claimed to be calling from the Ministry of Justice Money Saving Expert. She gave me a callback number: 0161 8186104. I checked the incoming number with ‘1471’ and it showed 02000000000, which I then tried to call but it wasn’t a real number. When I rang the 0161 one, some guy answered with a heavy foreign accent, sounded like he said something like ‘Pink Scowling’. Bit suspicious if you ask me!

This number recently tried to ring me but I didn’t pick up for reasons I’m gonna explain. I’m quite used to those annoying “Microsoft” scam calls that waste your time - you gotta keep an eye on your phone and decide whether to answer or just ignore it. Once, I even kept one on the line by complaining about some dodgy double-glazing issues I was supposedly having! Anyway, the best fix I found was getting a "Truecall call blocker". It’s about £100, but honestly worth every penny because it stops almost all the rubbish calls. I’ve actually stopped using BT’s “choose to refuse” service since then. Just so ya know, I’m not connected to Truecall or anything, just genuinely think it’s brilliant!

Today at about 11:24, I got a call from someone pretending to be Lloyds Bank’s fraud team. Definitely seemed like a scam.

I'm writing on behalf of my mum who got a call very early one morning from someone claiming to be Microsoft. They told her her computer had a Trojan virus and that it was affecting other people's devices too. Mum’s nearly 60 and not very confident with technology, just knows the basics. The callers kept insisting she needed to fix it right away, which stressed her out a lot. They promised help and assured her it wouldn’t cost anything. They somehow got into her laptop and started installing stuff, telling her what buttons to press. They were on the call for over an hour. Eventually, a page popped up asking her to pay either £250 or £350. She told them she couldn’t afford it and asked who exactly they were. When she refused to pay, they shut her laptop completely and hung up. Now she can’t even access it properly because all these strange icons they installed are there. She’s in the UK - does anyone know how she can sort this out?

This number keeps ringing us almost daily, claiming they wanna 'help' fix our PC and install some software. It's really annoying, and I wish there was some method to trace and block these pest calls. Honestly, someone needs to take action about this!

This phone number pretended to be from National Savings and Investments (NS&I), which I already had saved on my phone. When the call came through, my screen showed it was NS&I ringing, but once I picked up, there was nothing but silence. Thinking it was them, I tried calling back, only to see the number 0200 000 0000 pop up instead. Unsurprisingly, that number was out of service. It’s pretty clear someone’s messing with their system to make it look like NS&I’s number when it’s not. I ended up getting in touch with NS&I on their real number and let them know what happened.

These lot are so annoying, I get a bunch of calls from them all the time. Today’s caller kept pushing me to speak with him. I told him I’m in charge of my phone and who I chat to, and he just called me a fool again and again! Then he asked if I enjoyed being hacked, and I said “No way, and I’m certainly not into being scammed either!” I’ve had callers before pretending they’re from Microsoft or AOL. When one woman called recently, I just said “Look, you and me both know this is a scam,” and she hung up straight away. Is there any way these calls can be blocked from coming into the UK? I’m aware it’s a scam, but I worry about folks who might not see through it and end up getting tricked.

I've been getting loads of calls from these fraudsters lately. Whenever the phone rings, either me, my missus or the lad quickly switch the TV over to the Gaelic channel, crank up the volume and hold the phone close to the telly. They don’t stay on the line for long after that... I reckon they'll be the ones losing their cool before I do...

For the last week, i've had this number ringing me non stop, all i do is say dont call again and they just keep at it. They claim some person abroad is using my email to ask for £2000 for some medical crisis and say they'll sort it if i use my computer.. yeah right... I ended the call but the annoying thing called back and even asked why i ended it!

I went ahead and told the police about this number because the caller said they were from Microsoft’s fraud team. They asked if I’d logged into my email at like 5 in the morning, and when I said yes, I think they almost had me convinced. They’re definitely trying to trick you into letting them control your PC so they can pinch your details. Honestly, I just pick up the phone, say nothing, and put it down on mute - it actually makes me feel a bit calmer!

This number keeps ringing me up claiming my computer showed an error to Microsoft and they’re from their tech support team. They say they’ll sort out the issue but it’s just a scam. I’ve tried blocking them in every usual way but nothing seems to stop these calls. Anyone got ideas on how to get rid of them for good?

This number has been ringing me non stop. I tried talking to whoever’s calling, even told them off and gave warnings but nothing changes. The gov said they will start cracking down and slap big fines on these companies, but when exactly are they gonna get on with it?

After finishing work and checking my 1471, I see this number popping up constantly, no matter what time it is. My little bit of downtime at home is always interrupted by calls from this and other random numbers. Despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service, I still receive loads of calls from UK firms where a real person talks to me. Whenever I mention the TPS, they just say they're not trying to sell anything. Clearly, they haven't got a clue about what a cold call actually means. It’s getting really annoying trying to enjoy some calm in my own place - argh!

Surely the phone companies have some way to block these time wasters - it’s depressing to think what sort of lives they lead! They really ought to be stopped, or better yet, perhaps they should compensate us for all the time we lose. Maybe charge them a fee every time they call?

This number has been blowing up my phone loads of times every day for ages, all trying some dodgy email scam. I've even told Virgin about it since sometimes the caller says they're from Virgin's server support, but even after asking them to block the number, these pushy and irritating calls just keep coming through.
