My phone flagged this unknown caller as maybe a scam. I didn’t pick up and just blocked the number straight away.

This number rang me earlier, a woman with a strong Indian accent spoke first, then she handed me over to a bloke who claimed to be her supervisor, also with an Indian accent. He told me they were from 3 Mobile and were giving a 30% discount on my bills for a year because I’ve been with 3G for ages. I ended up giving them my address and date of birth for ‘verification’, and now I’m pretty anxious my identity might have been nicked since I also shared my email.

Got a call from 01997 617652 saying they were with EE. My phone was on low volume so I asked them to say it again, then they just hung up. I checked with EE and they confirmed it’s not their number. I’ve blocked it now and EE have flagged it as spam.

I received a call from Three, where they attempted to push an upgrade alongside a discount. When they inquired about my name, it raised some serious red flags for me. I mean, shouldn’t they already have that information? This certainly feels like a scam to me.

This is a total scam. Make sure you report any dodgy calls straight to the police so they can sort it out. There’s a simple system for this. Just Google ‘action fraud’ and head to the UK police website. Find the phishing report section and scroll right down to the bottom to fill out the quick form. You don’t need to sign up or anything. Make sure to add any threats or rude words in the comments box at the bottom of the form, which is mostly just tick boxes. Reporting these scams helps to stop them happening again!

Received a dodgy phone call claiming to be from O2, touting a new deal and an upgrade on my mobile. Quite amusing, really, considering I'm not even an O2 subscriber! It’s got scam written all over it, doesn’t it?

Its a scam for sure. If you get these calls, report them straight to the police so they can handle it. There’s an easy system in place for this. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and head to the UK police website. Find the phishing report section and scroll right down to where you can fill in a short form. You don’t need to sign up or anything. Be sure to mention any threats or rude words in the text box at the end of the mostly tick-box form. Reporting scam calls really helps cut down on them!

I reckon this is a scam, claiming to be from Three and pushing cheap offers. The first thing they asked was how much I currently pay, which doesn’t sound like a normal question from Three.
