01997617576 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01997617576 👆 is reported as a persistent scam number frequently impersonating well-known UK phone providers such as EE, O2, Carphone Warehouse, and Currys PC World. Callers often offer fraudulent discounts, phone upgrades, or deals to obtain personal or banking details. The calls feature poor accents, evasiveness when questioned, and sudden hang-ups when challenged. Many users have experienced repeated calls, silent hang-ups, or aggressive behaviour and recommend ignoring, blocking, and reporting the number to official fraud authorities. Evidence suggests calls originate from overseas call centres using spoofed UK numbers. The consensus warns against engaging, sharing any information, or trusting the callers. Reporting to Action Fraud or the police’s cybercrime units is advised to help combat this ongoing nuisance.

Probably a scam - someone said they were Zac from Currys PC World. I’ve never had anything to do with Currys PC World. As soon as I told him that and said he must’ve got the wrong number, he just said ‘ok’ and ended the call. I don’t think a real company would just hang up like that. Plus, he didn’t even know my name to begin with.

Got a call from this number today on my mobile. My phone flagged it as possible scam, so I ignored and blocked it. Funny thing is, it came right after another dodgy call just minutes before. Not sure if it’s connected, but I just set up a Facebook account yesterday. Haven’t had calls like this in ages. Bit suspicious, isn’t it? Coincidence or something else???

I received a call on my O2 number from someone claiming to be with EE, saying I was eligible for an upgrade. Quite amusing, really, as I'm not even an EE customer! They barely managed to stutter out a response before they cut off. Naturally, I've reported and blocked that number. Interestingly, it might be connected to another call I had from 02034104677 just the day prior, which I've also flagged and blocked. Quite the shambles, isn’t it?

This number came up as possible fraud. I don’t pick up calls like that, just block straight away. What bugs me most is these calls usually come right after I’ve bought something or done a payment on the internet. Feels like companies are selling or sharing my details. Lately, I’ve been getting calls from Indian and Turkish takeaways around London. A few times from a butcher too. They’re using real business numbers no doubt. Honestly, I’m proper fed up with it.
