Been getting calls off O2 scammers trying to grab your OTP to buy a new phone on your account. Genuine O2 reps always say your name, so if you’re unsure, just ask who they want and they usually just hang up. I’ve had about 3 or 4 of these dodgy calls this week alone.

Sadly, it's no longer possible to report scams straight to the police via the Action Fraud website - the form's been shut down, probably to save money. If you’re unhappy about that, maybe raise it with your MP. Still, you can send screenshots of scam messages to the cyber crime unit by emailing '[email protected]' and also forwarding the scam text to 7726 for good measure.

I got a call from a bloke with a strong accent saying he was from EE and offering to upgrade my plan. I told him I was still tied into a contract so an upgrade wasn’t possible, but he kept pushing, claiming I could do it anyway. I just politely said no thanks and he grumpily said alright then. Be warned, these calls often come from call centres in India, from what I’ve seen on Scam Interceptors, so I’m always wary whenever I hear a thick accent.
