Before you know it, you’ve been stung for £6 or more without even realising it’s a con.

I use BT call protect as well to stop these annoying calls and others. You CAN block calls from international numbers, withheld or unknown ones. BT keeps updating their block list all the time, and if any calls sneak past you can just block them on your own.

I saw this number is meant to be from St Clears (Carmarthenshire), which is actually where I get my boiler oil delivered from.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who straight away said her name was 'Veronica', which I knew wasn’t true. I told her I’d heard from her loads of times before and recognised her voice. I’d already told her we weren’t interested in a new boiler and to stop calling. Here's a little tip: ask for their company name and registration number so you can verify if they're legit. If they have an Indian accent, ask them to spell the company name. Most times, they just hang up right away.

The guy said he was calling a list of folks supposedly on benefits! None of us here have ever claimed benefits, so that list must be made up.
