I've noticed a pattern in the comments here that’s quite familiar. I'm curious, what can be done to put an end to this? Any suggestions?

I keep receiving calls from a number that appears as 'international' on my caller ID. It rings a couple of times, but just as I’m about to pick up, it disconnects before my voicemail kicks in. They’ve tried reaching me thrice yesterday and again today. I’ve had enough of this nonsense, so I’ll be blocking the number now.

I've received multiple calls from this number in recent days. Each time I pick up, there's nothing but silence on the line. Clearly, it's a dodgy operation.

Silent treatment received. They've cut me off.
