It’s possible we might have unwittingly registered on a website, perhaps something to do with job hunting or the like. Judging by what I’ve gathered from various comments, it appears that if that’s the case, these websites could be peddling our details to these dodgy characters.

Received a call from Shaw Academy. A while ago, I had shown some interest in one of their courses and likely provided my details. When I mentioned I had lost interest, the caller got a bit heated. She then proceeded to send me an email, claiming it would be the final one I would get (thank heavens for that!). I swiftly deleted it without a glance and made sure to block the number on my device.
