I finally got to the bottom of this mystery! It turns out to be Worldwide Recovery Systems, ringing in from landline 01992589311. Turns out, it's actually a fax machine that's been trying to reach our number. I had a word with the company, and they admitted it was an error on their part. They assured me they'll verify the number they meant to send to. It seems like the issue has been sorted now!

This number called us earlier today-twice in the space of a couple of minutes, no less! When I answered, all I got was an incessant beeping sound. I tried ringing the number back, and it appeared to connect to a fax machine. It's absolutely exasperating, especially with a little one trying to nap; the constant interruptions from this blasted phone are maddening! I can't fathom how these people acquire our number, especially when we've registered with the Telephone Preference Service. It really does nothing to deter these nuisance calls!
