They kept ringing me back, like three times! I was out of credit and missed the call anyway. After seeing these other posts, I'm really relieved I didn’t answer.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, ended the call straight away. About an hour later, my mum who has Alzheimer's picked up instead. She gave out her birthdate and mum's maiden name before I could get to the phone. The man claimed he was ringing from the bank, saying they wanted to refund some charges by cheque. When I spoke to him, I asked his name and his manager’s name. Once I told him I had his phone number and knew he was trying to scam us, he just hung up. Now my mum is really scared every time the phone rings.

Some bloke rang me and already had my name and address. When I asked where he was calling from, he said Manchester. I told him to find himself a real job, and then he snapped back, “what’s wrong with you?” so I just hung up.

Received a call regarding my Sky Insurance. Given that I've encountered numerous calls about this subject in the past, I decided to hang up. That was just yesterday, and lo and behold, the same number rang again today. I answered but kept the line open without actually engaging until they ultimately hung up. It was a woman on the other end with a distinct foreign accent.

It's really worrying that BT keeps letting these scammy foreign callers pretend to be from the UK. Surely they can see that more than 1500 folks have reported them - it's not exactly difficult to spot! BT really should be doing something about which numbers they’re selling.

On the first day, some bloke with an Indian accent called claiming to be Gary Hill. He told my dad there was a refund waiting, which got him interested. Gary said he’d ring back the next day with more details. When the second call arrived, it was an Indian woman asking to speak to my dad about the same refund. I told her straight up I wasn’t falling for it, and she ended up cursing at me and being really rude. Honestly, just ignore these calls and tell them where to shove it. So typical of these scammers.

Got a call early morning from a man saying his name was Robert William, claiming to be from Claims Advisory Group and that I was due a refund of £3,600. The creepy part was when he mentioned there was someone nearby ready to deliver the cheque to me. I quickly ended the call. This kind of thing really needs to be shut down, it’s seriously worrying. What if they go after elderly or vulnerable people and actually get inside their homes? I’m definitely reporting this to Trading Standards and Ofcom - they have to put a stop to these scams.

They called me once more, claiming that a lawyer would be in touch to provide a cheque for a bank refund. They instructed me to pop over to the post office and obtain a money gram sending form.

Got a call from someone saying they were 'Sharon' claiming to be from the 'UK Government'. She said they’d send me a cheque to refund some bank charges they supposedly got wrong. Asked me for my date of birth to verify, so I just gave a random one. Watch out for this kind of thing!

For weeks now, this number has called just once each day. When my wife picks up, a lady asks if she's Mrs followed by her real name, then just hangs up straight away.

This number kept ringing me a few times. When I finally picked up, a woman with an Asian accent was on the line, but as soon as I asked what they wanted, she just ended the call. I’ve blocked it now.

I actually reached out about this number back on 14/11/18, and then today it rang once more. I didn’t pick up, just left the receiver off the hook and completely forgot about it for like 35 minutes! Hopefully, they won’t be calling me again now.

I got a call from this number today and it was a total scam. The guy was really nasty on the phone, even started swearing at me! His English was rubbish and he said he was calling from some government office in Manchester - I could see right through him. Honestly, just don’t pick up if this number rings you, it’s not worth the hassle. Sounds like he’s just desperate for attention or something.

I got a call from a guy who sounded Asian, saying he was calling from some Claims Advisory Group in Manchester. He told me I was supposed to get some money back for charges taken from my bank. I told him I didn’t think I was owed anything, thanked him anyway, and ended the call.

They called me pretty early, about 8:20 on a Saturday. I’d been up all night because I was in loads of pain, so I was knackered and still half asleep. When I answered, they just dropped the call straight away. After seeing what people say here, I’m definitely blocking them now.

I picked up without looking at the number first. Some Asian guy started talking about some government refunds. I told him it was a total scam and not to bother me. Then he actually called me an idiot! I just told him to get lost.

I’ve stopped picking up calls from unknown numbers, especially if there’s that annoying lag before they connect. Most of the time they turn out to be scammers calling from overseas. My home phone just buzzed a bit ago, but luckily it only said "international out of area," so I couldn’t even see the actual number they were using. Honestly, when are the authorities going to actually sort out these pest calls? It’s getting really tiresome.

I picked up the call and it suddenly dropped, maybe it’s cause my number’s on the TPS. It keeps buzzing, though, which is super annoying.

At around 10 in the morning, I picked up the phone and a bloke asked to talk to our lad. I told him to say who he was first and then our son could ring him back. There was nothing but quiet on the other end. So, I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

I got a call from someone named "Christine" on the 12th of November, and I already shared my thoughts about it here. Well, come Tuesday, some other foreign caller rang me up and began the whole nonsense all over again. I asked her to swear on her family’s life that she wasn’t trying to scam me out of money, and she just swore back and hung up on me!

Got a call today while my husband was around, these lot claimed he had some money waiting for him from a bank. Yeah, right! They mentioned sending him a cheque, just like every other scam story you hear. When he asked if they were with some government department, the bloke just cut the call straight away.

Got a call saying I was supposed to get a cheque from the government, yeah right, as if that’s ever true! I told the bloke to swear on his family’s safety that he wasn’t trying to con me, and then he just hung up.

I got a ring from this number earlier, and when I answered, the person asked if I was Mrs so-and-so. I said yes, and they claimed to be calling from some kind of advice centre. I played along even though I suspected it was a con, it was a bit different from the usual recorded spiels about my broadband being cut off. Out of nowhere, they said "go away go away" and just hung up on me! Couldn't believe it!

Never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise anymore, I just jump on google and have a look to see who it is. They keep ringing anyway, you’d think they’d stop, but nope, they keep switching numbers to trick people. Total scammers!

Honestly, it’s just the same story over and over again. You’d think there’d be a simple method to track down where these calls are coming from and put an end to them once and for all.

So this morning around 9:45, I got a call from a guy with an Indian accent. First thing he did was ask if he’d reached the right person! Then he started going on about how my bank had withdrawn money from my account over several years and they wanted to refund me. I was like, “Seriously? Can you prove you know my date of birth?” He said no, and that without that info they couldn’t confirm who I was. Honestly, do they take us for idiots? It’s obviously a scam, total nonsense as always.

Just like others have said, it’s a Claims Advisory scam for sure. What I don’t get is how they manage to use phone numbers with local area codes when the calls are obviously fake and likely coming from overseas. It’s so annoying how they make it seem local when it’s totally not.

Twice this week I've had calls from someone with an Asian accent asking for my partner. When I said he wasn't around and asked who it was, they just ended the call. Quite strange really.

Had a call from an Asian guy asking for me, I just flat out said no and left the phone hanging. I'm so tired of these scammers always ringing up, there really needs to be some action to stop them pestering us all the time.

Nearly a whole day passed before I got another ring, this time from a woman with a thick Asian accent who said her name was Jennifer. She somehow had my name and address and asked me to verify them so she could mail me a cheque. When I questioned her about which bank it was from, how much they were paying me, and the reason behind it, she just cut the call. Honestly, these scammers are the worst kind.

Got a call bright and early at around 8 o’clock, a man with an Asian accent asking to talk to me but using my husband’s first name, not his last name. I told him there’s no one here with that surname, and then they just cut the call off. It really bugs me getting scam calls so early - makes me worry something’s happened to loved ones. Another annoying nuisance, but thank goodness I didn’t let them carry on, it was obviously a scam!

Some bloke with a thick Asian accent calling himself Alex rang me, going on about some cash the government supposedly owes me through banks. Honestly, it's just a rubbish scam trying to trick you into giving out your bank info. This idiot should just stop pestering people with these dumb calls, maybe go find something better to do.

Got a call from a woman saying she was from some claims advisory company. She claimed they needed my info to refund a mistake made by my bank. Oddly, she already knew my address but just dropped the call when I asked questions. Definitely seemed like one of those Indian call centres.
