Some bloke with an accent I couldn’t place called saying he was from Microsoft and told me my PC was hacked. When I told him I’d used it just yesterday, he just kept going on with nonsense, so I just ended the call. Another one of those #### scams. Seriously, why won’t these idiots just stop wasting our time? I’m sick of getting calls like this.

Got a call really early today, like 7.30 am, from someone named Anna claiming to be from Microsoft. She told me my computer had an issue but I told her everything was fine. She just said sorry and ended the call. Appreciate the excuse, but 7.30 am is way too early for that!

It took ages for ‘Nora’ to pick up, and when she did, she claimed to be calling from Microsoft. She somehow already knew both my first and last name. I just let it ring out! Sounds like it’s from someone overseas, probably a fake number. They usually try to convince you to let them "repair your PC" but it’s a scam to access your bank details and wire your cash away to them. Total con!

Just got a call on my work phone a short while back. I picked up saying only my first name, which is my usual trick when I suspect it might be a scam. I could hear someone on the other end, but they quickly ended the call. The number showed as coming from Bungay, England, which is nowhere near where I’d expect any genuine calls. There's no way I need to be contacted by anyone from there, so it’s obviously some dodgy scammer up to no good. I wish the authorities would do something about these crooks, they must be fooling loads of unsuspecting people out there.

Got a call claiming to be from Microsoft security saying there was some dangerous stuff happening on my PC. I asked how they could possibly know that, and he went on about how every computer has its own unique ID. I told him straight up he was a scammer and then cut the call. It baffles me these kinds of crooks aren’t locked up for this sort of thing. Phone companies must be cashing in somehow and don’t seem bothered to stop it. I guess it’s a minor loss for them compared to what they stand to lose eventually.

Like many others, I recently received a call at 7:40am from an individual identifying themselves as being from Microsoft. The person on the line was of Asian descent and exhibited a rather forceful manner when I mentioned that I believed them to be a scammer. In response, I politely told them to prioritize the well-being of their family. Surprisingly, this seemed to greatly upset the individual. It certainly provided an interesting start to my morning!

Today, I have been contacted twice by this particular phone number: once at 7:00 am and again at 9:30 am. Today, I received a phone call from a certain number. The person on the line claimed to be a representative from Microsoft. However, I quickly identified that he was attempting to defraud me. Shockingly, he even went as far as issuing a sinister warning that he would visit my residence and harm me.

SCAM ALERT. Right from the moment I picked up, I told "Kevin" and "James" claiming to be from "Microsoft" that I knew it was a con. Still, they tried to convince me by pointing out supposed problems on my PC. I played along for about 40 minutes, just to see what they were up to. Eventually they asked for remote access through Anydesk, but I said no way. After that, they started calling me rude names and threatened to permanently lock my computer. Just what you'd expect from these scammers, I guess.

Got a call from this number early, about 7 in the morning. I'm disabled, so I didn't pick up and let it go to voicemail. They didn’t leave any message though. These scam calls happen almost every morning and quite often during the day too. It’s really frustrating having to make the effort to answer just to get these annoying calls. Shouldn’t the police or government do something about this?

Got a call from this landline number, with a woman named Ruth claiming she was from Microsoft. At first, I couldn’t catch a word she said. After telling her this several times, she finally spoke up, saying she was calling about my computer. It was obvious a scam - Microsoft wouldn’t ring up like that. She never checked who I was or even asked if I owned a computer. When I asked her to clarify which computer she meant, she said she couldn’t hear me and then hung up. It seemed like she was being trained or getting help from someone else in the background before ending the call.

I first got a call from 0117 370 0297, a Bristol number, with someone saying they were from Microsoft. I just ended the call straight away. Then, they called me back two more times, asking why I’d hung up. The final call came from 01986 807479, which makes me think they’re spoofing numbers now. Having calls from completely different area codes definitely shows it’s dodgy. Definitely a scam.

I received three phone calls today claiming to be from Microsoft, expressing concern about the safety of my computer. When I attempted to terminate the call, the individual began shouting, prompting me to end the conversation. Shortly after, I received a call from a different number, this time from someone identifying themselves as a senior Microsoft technician. Remaining polite, I engaged in the conversation, but they too started shouting and threatened to block my computer. Just a minute later, the initial caller contacted me again from the same number! He seemed furious that I had hung up on him and again began shouting, accusing me of not paying attention. As one can imagine, I promptly ended the call. Remarkably persistent, wouldn't you agree?

Posing as representatives from Microsoft, a gentleman initiated the conversation by politely urging me to turn on my laptop, as he was aware that I owned one. Although hesitant, I complied with his request. We engaged in friendly conversation for a while, after which he passed me on to his female colleague. However, she was not as amiable as him, and when I began to express doubt, she turned impolite. Consequently, I decided to undo the actions I had previously taken on my laptop. As the device started to reset itself, they abruptly ended the call and disconnected. Date: 14th February 2022.

The caller took roughly twenty seconds to actually connect when I picked up - that’s usually a red flag, isn't it? He went on to say things others have mentioned before, and when I chimed in to assert that my computer was perfectly fine, he insisted he wasn’t trying to sell me anything. At that point, I decided to hang up.
