7 yearsReceived a dodgy call from a chap with a rather mature voice, claiming that my broadband and landline would be cut off. What struck me as odd was his suggestion that if I hung up, that would somehow trigger this suspension. He even went so far as to say I should press 1 or 2 to 'resolve' some phantom bill. I traced the number with 1471, but it turned out to be unknown. An elderly neighbour of mine received a similar call and was really distressed, especially since he had just been discharged from hospital and was anxious about maintaining access to emergency services.
