I picked up the phone to a call that claimed to be from Amazon. The voice on the line prompted me to press 1, and as soon as I did, the call was instantly answered. It felt rather suspect, as if the caller was waiting in the wings the whole time, and that pressing 1 was just a trick to get me to engage. The person on the other end had a strong accent that sounded Chinese, making it quite tricky to comprehend. They claimed that there were two individuals accessing my Amazon account and requested my password. I hung up promptly.
