Last week was a bit of a nightmare with my phone ringing off the hook-twelve times in just one day! I distinctly told them to refrain from calling me again, and for a while, it seemed like my message had sunk in. Then, out of the blue yesterday, I got three calls in under a quarter of an hour. Naturally, I gave them the same firm directive once more. Honestly, I’m not convinced it will change anything. I'm starting to wonder if it’s time to involve the police, as this certainly feels like harassment, doesn't it?

On the 5th of Friday, I received a total of five calls from this number between 11am and 1pm, followed by another one while I was out and about. The first two calls were from rather rude women - not natives, I must say - which prompted me to hang up. I decided to let the next two calls ring out before checking 1471. Interestingly, I discovered one more call noted there; there could have been additional calls, but the way 1471 works means each new call seems to override the record of the last. Fast forward to today, and at 9:20 am, then 9:56 am, and now at 10:45 am, I've been bombarded with silent calls, with the numbers withheld. I've just managed to get a grip on one series of these calls, only to be faced with more from another number. As I’m in a wheelchair, this whole situation is far from amusing and is something I could really do without.

They’ve called me about 8 times today asking for someone who’s just died. When I told them she’s passed away, they kept asking who I was and expected me to answer questions, even though it’s my mum who recently died. I clearly said we’re grieving, but the person on the phone said “you’re not listening you do quick survey,” which was really rude, then slammed the phone down. About half an hour later they called again asking for my mum. I told them to stop bothering us and reported them to the police. After that, the caller just said OK and hung up.

I've received an astonishing 15 to 17 calls today alone! It’s absolutely relentless. I’ve got a Panasonic phone, and I’ve gone ahead and blocked that number, but I’m starting to doubt whether it’ll even make a difference! What a hassle!

I received a staggering 17 calls in just four hours! I had a conversation with a young lady who had an Indian accent, and I really lost my temper with her, insisting that they MUST stop calling me. To my utter annoyance, just five minutes later, my phone rang again. This time, I was greeted by a bloke on the other end. I expressed my frustration, saying I was absolutely sick of these incessant calls, and he just cut me off. What a shambles!

Today, they’ve bombarded me with a staggering 25 calls in just eight hours! Generally, there’s no one on the line, but during the latest call, a woman initiated a rather odd conversation. She claimed to be representing UK Harvest. When I requested to be put through to a supervisor, she rather dismissively informed me there wasn't one available. I called her out on that, expressing my disbelief. To my shock, she then threatened that they would continue to ring me incessantly until I filled in their survey! And just like that, she hung up!

I’ve taken the step to alert Ofcom myself and, as a final measure, contacted BBC Radio 4’s 'You and Yours' programme to delve into the matter. I strongly encourage others who come across this to do likewise. The poor owners, whose very livelihoods are at stake, have reached out to their telecommunication provider, Ofcom, and Action Fraud, yet, to the best of my knowledge, none have managed to find a solution thus far. If this issue is beginning to infect other legitimate numbers across the UK, it demands a comprehensive inquiry and must be eradicated. You might find that next time it’s YOUR number that these fraudsters decide to target.

In the past couple of days, I've had about 15 calls from this number. The last one was about half an hour ago, and thankfully it was a bloke who actually talked. I told him to stop calling, but he said he’d keep ringing every 30 minutes until I answered his questions. I asked him what part of “leave me alone” he didn’t get. Then he started threatening, saying if I just answered his questions, they’d stop calling. I told him to piss off and find something better to do with his time.
