Definitely a scam. Got a call this morning from a number showing Isle of Wight on the caller ID - not saved in my phone at all. The bloke on the line said he knew my name and claimed my VW needed a cambelt replaced. I told him I’d sold the car ages ago. When I questioned why the call came from an Isle of Wight number if he was meant to be from a VW dealer in Cheshire, he just said other folks had asked that too and then hung up. I rang the dealer where I bought the car and they had no clue about any of this.
