Got a call from 01983210182 claiming to be from Microsoft. I played along and asked a few questions, pretending I was confused. Then I told the guy, why would you be working for a scam? After that, I pressed the button to stop any more calls. But honestly, I’ve tried this a few times and they just keep ringing back. Feels like they keep switching their phone number.

Microsoft just doesn’t quit! The folks calling claiming to be from ‘Microsoft’ soon turn quite pushy. I can see how that could really upset some people.

I got a call from a woman claiming she was from Windows. When I asked her who she really was, she got quite annoyed and started talking about some kind of scan. She was rude, saying I didn’t know anything about computers. Then, out of nowhere, she just ended the call.

There are tons of these kinds of phone numbers about. Honestly, it's safer not to pick up if you don't know who's calling. Anyone important will just ring again later. It’s just awful how these greedy crooks keep doing this stuff.

The phone showed there was a voicemail, but when I checked it, all I heard was a really loud static noise. Felt kinda dodgy to me.

I received a call on my home phone earlier today from a number claiming to represent Microsoft. I quickly informed them that I recognised it as a scam and requested they refrain from calling me again. The caller, rather cheekily, threatened to report me afterwards!

On 31st August 2022, I got a call on my BT landline 01983 210182 where there was nothing but silence before they just cut off. I reported it via bt.com/scams. It's supposedly authorised by Ofcom but feels dodgy, almost like criminal activity. What’s the deal with this?

This was clearly a scam. I’d suggest reporting it to the police. Just search for ‘action fraud’ on Google and head to the UK police website. Then find the phishing section and scroll all the way down, there’s a quick form you can fill out to report it.

Don’t bother just blocking the calls, it won't stop them. They have loads of fake UK numbers they just keep switching too. Best thing is to report any dodgy calls to Action Fraud. Their details are below.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, talking rubbish about some problem with "my computer." She kept insisting I check my screen out. (Obviously, I sussed it was a con.) Then she asked me about the key on the bottom left of my keyboard. I was suspicious and asked what it was for, she then wanted the next key over. I told her straight up it was a scam. She lost it, got really mad, called me stupid, and slammed the phone down on me. What a nightmare!

Got a rather rude call from a lady with an Asian accent about some issue with "my computer". She kept insisting I check my screen. (I was well aware it was a scam). Then she wanted me to read out the key at the lower left corner of my keyboard. When I hesitated, she asked for the next key. I told her outright it was a con, and she got really mad, snapped at me not to be daft and just hung up.

Definitely not from the Isle of Wight, thats clear. The number was just created a couple days ago but has been ringing loads. This time I decided to answer since I was waiting on a call. I could hear a call centre noise in the back, and a woman with an Asian accent said "hello" thrice. I didn’t respond and she just ended the call. Looking it up afterwards, it was exactly the scam I figured it would be. Authorities really need to step in and stop these crooks from taking advantage of people who are easy targets.

I had a rather unpleasant encounter with a woman of Asian descent who attempted to convince me that my computer was encountering issues. When I firmly disagreed with her claims, she raised her voice and called me foolish. I'm absolutely seething over this. She's definitely a suspicious caller, so I urge everyone to report her.

Exercise extreme caution! I encountered a con artist pretending to be from Microsoft's Technical Support, asserting he could fix my computer from afar. He urged me to install a questionable application, which would grant him remote access to my system. To add to the alarm, he also insisted I download another dodgy app. Stay vigilant!

Dont trust any unexpected calls sayin theyre from Microsoft, they dont make cold calls like that. I got a ring but no voicemail, which made me think it was nothing serious. Quite odd really, since hardly any company works through a bank holiday. Just seems like a scam to me, too suspicious otherwise.
