Over the past few days, I've been getting calls claiming to be from Visa. At first, I just let them ring out and go to voicemail like I usually do. But when the number showed up a third time, I picked up, mainly because I was a bit intrigued. They told me that a payment of £600 had been blocked on my card. I didn’t press any buttons like they asked. What’s really got me wondering is how their automated system can tell the difference between a real person and an answering machine.

Just got a robo call saying it was VISA about a £600 transfer overseas in the last quarter of an hour. They told me to press 1 if I hadn’t made it to stop the transaction. Another dodgy scam like the one last week, just a different phone number this time.
