Got a call from a bloke with a thick Indian accent, saying my elderly relative had snagged some sort of shop discount voucher. I didn’t hang around chatting, just told him this number is on the TPS list (which it definitely is) and gave him a heads up that any more calls and I’d be reporting him straight away (and believe me, I will).

I got a call from this number and it was immediately blocked by the National Fraud Investigation Bureau. They were pretending to be from the Postcode Lottery, but it’s a scam. They try to trick you into giving your bank info by talking about some fake discount card. Beware, it’s definitely not legit!

Got a ring from this number earlier. A lady with quite an accent said “Hello” so I answered with “Morning.” Next thing she’s chatting away in some language I couldn’t make out at all. I said sorry, I don’t understand, and she just repeated the foreign talk before cutting me off. No clue who she was or what the call was about, but it definitely felt dodgy, probably one of those scam calls.

I got £198 landed in my bank from some PPI thing, so I asked if they could just send me a cheque instead. Then they asked for my cheque book details?? I refused, told them I’d already banked the cheque. They passed me to a supervisor who kept calling me madam, I asked what that was about. Same story, no cheque can be sent. Then I asked what my own name was, and they told me to hold, came back saying they could put money into my bank. How do they not know my name yet they’re calling me? Had to wait while they “looked up” my files. Honestly, total scam!

I had a rather puzzling experience with a chap on the phone earlier. He was of Asian descent and frankly, his accent made it tricky to grasp what he was saying. He asserted he was ringing from the Post Office’s Postcode Lottery, insisting it was all above board. Apparently, I’d won a rather peculiar prize amounting to about £350, though I can’t recall the precise figure. He started probing for my banking information, and I remained courteous as I listened to him. However, my patience waned, and I ended up confronting him, accusing him of being a scam artist, to which he promptly disconnected the call. If he's genuinely phoning from that number and not just masking his identity with some overseas line, it might be high time for the police to intervene.

Got a call from a lady with a thick accent who claimed to be from the Postcode Lottery. She said I qualified for a card that offered discounts on meals and other stuff. She wanted to confirm my prize and asked how old I was, probably to get more info. Then she tried to guess my postcode, saying B437ZA, which is wrong. I told her this sounded like a scam and she just hung up straight away. Best thing I did was not give out any info to her. Stay alert folks!
