6 yearsJust had a call from someone with the initials MW claiming to be from a well-known UK financial firm. He said I could claim back old PPI commissions thanks to their collaboration with the FCA. The spiel was that once I receive some documents and sign a form agreeing to a 10% fee, they’d send the money. I told him to send me a cheque as I never share my bank details over the phone. Pretty sure I won’t be seeing any paperwork though. (I did get a genuine PPI refund a few years back.) He seemed to know about a joint account I have, probably from a credit check. He even gave me his name, a 01980 number, and an employee ID! The mobile he called from is being monitored by security now, and of course the landline number he called is untraceable.
