I just got a call from a place called Anesbury about some money I supposedly owe to HMRC. At first, an automated voice started threatening legal trouble if I didn’t pay up. Then, it passed me to someone who claimed to be an officer, asked for my name and said I had to cough up around £2000. After that, they asked if I was ready to pay. Sounds like a classic tax scam to me.
