I recently got a call from this number on a rarely-used phone of mine, which quite took me aback. The caller was inquiring about renewing an Amazon Prime subscription for roughly £79. This raised my suspicions immediately, as I neither have an Amazon Prime account nor have I ever signed up for it. I'm flagging this number as a scam; it’s evident they're not being truthful about their identity!

I got a call recently on a phone I hardly use, so I wasn’t fully paying attention while trying to sort out the charger. From what I caught, they were asking me to renew some Amazon Prime subscription for £79, which is totally fake since I’ve never had Amazon Prime. I checked the caller ID with 1471, and it showed 01980862228. When I tried calling that back, it said the number wasn’t valid. Looks like this scam has been going on a while, and the phone number they use changes on each call.

Someone rang my mum who’s quite old, and it made her really anxious because she didn’t understand why they were calling. They told her to press 1, but luckily she didn’t do it - no idea what might’ve happened otherwise. They pretended to be from Amazon and said her payments were going up, but she doesn’t even have an Amazon account. Total scam.
