I received a rather intrusive phone call this morning from someone who turned out to be a typical con artist! They insisted they were in the area to install smart meters. Strangely, they had all my details - my full name, address, postcode, and even the name of my energy provider. Be cautious, everyone!

I got a voicemail from this number but it was meant for someone else. Sounds like they called the wrong phone by accident while trying to reach another person.

Glad I didn’t pick up, especially after seeing everyone else’s comments. Those smart meters seem pointless - they just let the energy firms switch you off from a distance whenever they fancy.

My mate picked up and the caller had the nerve to ask for me by name. When my friend asked what it was about, they just ended the call straight away. Weird behaviour.

On June 25th, I got a call from someone saying they needed to discuss my smart meter. When they asked me to verify some info, I mentioned that since they called me, they must already have my details. Then the woman read out a postcode that hadn’t been correct for over 40 years, so I just ended the call.

At first, the call was completely quiet, then it started to feel like it was coming from a call centre, but there was no one actually speaking on the other end!

A lady with an Indian accent gave me a ring and asked me to verify my name. Then she started asking about my smart meter, but I don’t even have one. Feels like she was just fishing to get my name confirmed. I’d recommend you always ask who’s calling and what the call is regarding before you say or confirm your name.

dodgy calls - got 3 of em on 7th june, 13th june and 17th june. every time i pick up, they just hang up. proper annoying robo-dialer. best to just block their number.

Got a call from this number saying it was from my internet provider and that there was some illegal stuff happening on my account. Sounded dodgy to me!
