I received three phone calls today from a particular number. The person on the other end had an Asian accent, but it was difficult to understand him due to his poor English pronunciation. He claimed that I am owed £1800, although I have no idea from where. I instructed him to send a cheque to the address he mentioned. However, he insisted on obtaining more personal information, including whether I was bankrupt and my bank details, promising to transfer the money for me (as if!). I firmly declined to provide any further details and told him that if he didn't send the cheque, he could keep the money. In response, he mentioned that he would donate it to charity instead. I agreed that it was a good idea, and he promptly hung up. Hopefully, they have understood the message by now and will stop bothering me with their calls.

Some bloke rang me up asking for me by name. Said he was gonna send me £1500 back, some refund on a loan from 2006. I wish that was true! Like he knows about the time limits on debt claims! I just ended the call. The number 1471 showed "unknown number," so how are they even ringing if you can’t call back? Seriously, BT or whoever’s in charge, sort it out. The chap on the other end, who identified himself as Daniel Craig (his English was quite fractured, mind you), was rather insistent, despite the fact that I don’t even bank with TSB! I received a call from this number, and they actually mentioned my name! The caller inquired about how I was doing, then oddly mentioned that it was imperative I consult a doctor? Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming I was due a PPI refund. I kept asking for the firm’s name and address, but he just stuck to his script, so I hung up. Lately I’ve been getting loads of calls each day, and I reckon it’s because EMCAS, who I managed to get to quit pestering me, might have passed my info on. The timing fits, as these new calls kicked off right after EMCAS stopped.

Got a call from an Asian bloke calling himself David Wilson, claiming I was supposed to get £2000 from a loan with my bank. He kept pressing about which bank I was with, but I told him I don’t have one. He wouldn’t stop, so I just hung up. Then he called back asking why I cut the call. I asked him to say his name and company again, which he did, and I told him nicely I’d report him to the police. He hung up. Had loads of calls like this before and after, really annoying and harassing.

Earlier today, an individual of Asian descent, who had difficulty communicating in English, called and specifically asked to talk to my wife. With caution, I requested him to provide the account password. Surprisingly, he claimed not to possess such information but remained adamant about speaking to my wife. Abiding by my instinctive nature, I insisted once more for the password. However, his response became increasingly abusive. Though his frustration was evident, I simply chuckled and stood my ground by asserting that the given password was incorrect. Ultimately, exasperated, he abruptly ended the call in a fit of anger. 😂😂😂

TOTAL SCAMMER/S. SPOKE WITH AN ASIAN-SOUNDING VOICE WHO SAID HE WAS ENGLISH AND CALLED HIMSELF ALFRED. HE CLAIMED TO BE FROM A COMPANY NAMED "NATIONALISED REFUNDS". Got a call claiming I had a loan from 2007, which I denied. Then they suggested it might be a joint loan and said I was owed PPI. They did have my right address but I've never taken a loan back then. I told them I’m signed up on TPS and these kinds of cold calls are illegal, then they just ended the call.

Just a tip from me - I've noticed that being nice and playing along just a bit, while clearly not sharing anything new, usually makes them lose interest and leave me alone. So far, no one’s been rude or called back, apart from the odd genuine British firm that’s a bit disorganised! Whenever it's a real company, I always report them to the TPS or ICO.

A really courteous bloke with an Indian accent rang me up, asking if I recalled my PPI claim being sorted (about as likely as me winning the lotto without even buying a ticket!), saying I was meant to receive £1200 from the bank. Then he asked me to grab some paper and a pen, and once I had them, he wanted to know which bank I’d used the most over the past five years. I told him I wasn’t quite sure and needed to check, so after a bit of messing about, he just ended the call.

I told her I've never had a loan with Lloyds, but she insisted maybe I’d forgotten and offered to get some money back for me. I told him another firm sorted out my PPI claim and I only trust them to handle my stuff, no one else. He said the Lloyds claim was refused and his lot could get the money for me. I told him no thanks, I’ll stick with the company that’s already helped me fine, then ended the call. He rang straight back saying “madam don’t hang up on me.” I just told him to buzz off cos I’m sure it’s a dodgy call.

The lady on the phone was talking with a really thick accent, sounded like she was from India or somewhere near there. I struggled to get what she was saying. She kept going on about some loan and PPI stuff but I told her I never took out any loan, no matter how many times. An individual of Asian descent displayed aggressive behavior when I declined to disclose my identity over the phone. Consequently, I chose to end the call. However, the person called again and reiterated their intention to keep calling until I revealed who I was. I explained to them that it doesn't work that way and requested that they refrain from issuing threats towards me. Later, the same individual contacted me again, but this time using a different phone number: 02038378973. It should be noted that this number is associated with fraudulent activities. To complicate matters further, they previously called my elderly mother, who is 90 years old, offering her a false prize claiming she had won a significant amount of fish and would be picked up for a photo shoot. We promptly reported this incident to the police.

He asked for me by name and claimed I had some PPI from a loan way back in 2009. I told him fine, just post me a cheque then. After that, I just ended the call. Definitely a pest call coming from another country.

They keep ringin’ me up sayin’ I owe £9000 on credit cards, but I’ve never even had one! Told the bloke this and he started callin’ me a liar and got really rude, so I just hung up. Then this afternoon I got two more calls, picked up one and a woman asked for a Mr by name. I said no one here by that name and asked what it was about, she just said it’s none of my business. Whenever I answer, they just hang up. It’s really getting on my nerves now.

Someone with an asian accent rang me on 01978 41254 today, and ive reported it to tps. I’d suggest others do the same to help stop these calls.

The person on the phone said my name, so I tried to turn the radio down to listen properly, but they had already hung up. Before this, someone called me saying I’d got a loan back in 2004 or something like that.

I've had a rather tenacious Indian lady on the line, endlessly attempting to extract my details. She was going on about offering me thousands in compensation, which honestly screamed scam to me. Even after I hung up, she kept ringing back! I ultimately had to be quite brusque to shake her off. Just thought I'd share my experience with this number: 01978 41254.

Just got another call 45 minutes after the one from 035609022. Same story as everyone else. They said I took a loan back in 2005 and paid it off in 2009 from BOS. The bloke wouldn’t believe me when I said I never had a loan and started giving me info to pass to his manager so they could send me a cheque. Blocked both numbers straight away.

Sounds like a right dodgy scammer. The number shows up as a 10 digit one, so no way to call back. The guy said I had a loan with Nationwide from 2005, paid off by 2009, and he was from the refund department. Claimed I got overcharged and owed money back. When I told him I never had that loan, he just hung up. Proper worry for older folks with cons like this going about their business. They’re just after bank info from vulnerable people, and I’m scared some will fall for it eventually. Total scumbags.

We are receiving an excessive number of calls from this particular number, and our phone block list is currently at capacity. On the 8th of October, we received a call at 14:53. Additionally, on the 9th of October, we received calls at 10:34, 12:39, 13:00, 14:28, and 15:14. On the 12th of October, we received calls at 12:00, 12:28, 15:16, and 18:07. Lastly, on the 13th of October, we received calls at 10:58, 13:59, and 14:38.

What a con job involving PPI claims! I've encountered this nonsense previously, and it always leads to a pitch from Claims Advisory Group, who will pocket around 40% of any recompense you might receive. The chap who rang me had an accent that sounded Indian and went by the name John.

Wow, this number keeps ringing me non stop the last few days. When I finally picked up, they said the same thing as everyone else here. Said I took a loan in 2005, paid it back by 2009, and now there’s £1,500 waiting to be returned to me.

Some bloke from Asia has rung me about 8 times using loads of different English names. He keeps insisting I got a loan back in 2005 and cleared it by 2009, which isn't true at all. When I told him it all sounded like a scam to get money from me, he just hung up on me.

Beware of scammers from Pakistan trying to trick you into giving bank details for a fake refund. They use the info to carry out other financial frauds like identity theft. Just block and don’t answer. Such dodgy scam artists!

Had a similar thing happen to me like what others said back in 9/10/15. Sounds dodgy to me cos he said the loan was in both my and my 'husbands' name, always callin me Mrs with his last name. Me and my partner have different surnames and only got together late 2005. Ended up hanging up but he kept ringing from the same number all afternoon, which I just ignored.

Some bloke called me saying I took out a loan back in 2005 and repaid it by 2009, then went on about me claiming some payment protection or sumthin. I told him I never had any loan, and he suddenly got quite nasty. I ended the call but a minute later he rang again, still banging on about a cheque for £1,500 waiting for me. I said, if you've got my details, why not just post the cheque? Then he just hung up on me. Weird encounter!

I got a call from this number back on 08/10/2015. The person asked for me by name and I said yes. Then he started talking about a loan I supposedly had with Barclays that I'd already paid off and that I could claim PPI. I told him I never had a loan with Barclays but he kept pushing, saying "don’t you want your money?" and that I was due about £1,500. I challenged him on this, and he passed me over to a guy with an English accent. The first caller had an Indian accent. I explained the same thing to the second person and he said if that’s the case, he couldn’t help me.

On 9th October 2015, this guy (from India) rang again so I handed the call to my partner who started grilling him. He asked what the company's name was, and the caller said it was PPI Reclaim Ltd. When asked if the company was officially registered at Companies House, he said yes. But as soon as we asked for the registration number, he just cut the call. I tried ringing that number back and got a message saying it’s no longer working. Seriously, watch out for these sorts of calls.

When I called my parents, it was similar to a situation where you receive a phone call about having taken out a loan. To my relief, my parents immediately hung up, recognizing it as a scam. Thank goodness for their quick thinking to avoid being victims of deceitful individuals.

Someone rang saying I’d got a loan back in 2005 which I paid off in 2009 and that I could claim PPI. After a bit of back and forth, the bloke started shouting swear words at me and then just ended the call. Then the next day, the same person called again, and when I asked how they got my number, they just swore at me once more and disconnected.

I recently received a phone call informing me that I had obtained a loan back in 2006, but this is completely false, as I have never taken out a loan. When I requested more information about their company, the caller abruptly ended the call. It's worth mentioning that the man had an Asian accent. Additionally, using the dial-back service by dialing 1471, I discovered that the number behind this questionable call was 0197841254.

An Asian man called claiming that I was owed £1,400 on a loan that was supposedly taken out in 2009. However, I couldn't recall taking any loan during that time, so I ended up hanging up. Interestingly, based on the sound quality of the call, it seemed to originate from overseas rather than a British phone. In response to this suspicious situation, I have now decided to block this number.
