On the 2nd of November, sometime around 11 in the morning, my landline was called by a recorded female voice claiming a £500 transaction was made on my AMEX account to Amazon. The message asked me to press various keys to verify or dispute it. I just ended the call straight away.

Sounds like a scam to me. Got an automated voicemail about Halifax and Visa, but I haven’t dealt with them in ages. Ended the call straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from bank security, didn’t say which bank though. They said there had been around £300 spent on Amazon and over £1,100 on some foreign purchases, asked me to press one if I hadn’t made the transactions. Totally dodgy because both my banks only ever text me on my mobile, plus this call came through on my landline. Definitely a scam attempt.
