Somebody rang me up saying they were from BT and that my internet had been hacked or something. It sounded dodgy to me.

I got a call from a lady who sounded like she wasn’t from around here, claiming to be from BT. She told me my internet had been hacked and somehow my address was involved with money laundering and other dodgy stuff. It felt like she was pushing me to say yes or no quickly, so I held back, remembering what I’d read and heard about scams online and on the radio. After that, she asked what gadget I use to get online, so I said a mobile. When she wanted the brand and model, I just said I didn’t really pay attention to that info on the screen and then she just cut the call off.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT, sounded like he wasn't from around here. The moment he said BT, I just told him I wasn’t sure about that. He kept saying he wanted to help and wasn't after any info, so I told him I'd listen for a bit. Then suddenly he just ended the call.
