Got a call from someone claiming to be with Open Reach, had an Indian accent. They kept going on about an issue between my internet and some server. I joked maybe the bad weather was the problem. They seemed to really like our weather here. As soon as I mentioned it was snowing, they hung up. Totally a scam!

Today I got a call from 01974530633, sounded like an Indian bloke claiming to be from Openreach. He started saying there was an issue with my broadband, but I told him I’m not with BT and everything’s fine with my internet anyway. Then I said I’d report his number to Hoax Hotel, had a bit of a laugh, and just ended the call.

Reported this back on 24/1/19. Already seen this number and blocked it. Didn't pick up - definitely scammers around. Watch out for numbers starting with 0120 and 0161. For example: 0120 050 9022 is an internet scam, as is 0120 262 3686 and 0120 743 8678. Also got calls from 0161 017 2330, probably internet related, and 0161 818 7840 which seems like a HMRC scam. Another one was 0161 818 6596 - same scam team, I reckon. Stay safe!

Received a call on my home phone from someone claiming to be from Openreach; however, they couldn’t even tell me who they were trying to reach when I questioned them. Sounds like a classic scam to me-heads up! The number was 01974 530633.

Someone rang me claiming to be from the BT tech team. Because I’d been duped before by callers pretending to be from Talk Talk, I told him to give me his number so I could ring back. He just cut the call straight away. Really glad I looked up the number here first, cheers for that.

Got another call supposedly 'from BT' but definitely not actually BT! They're ringing from abroad, so the TPS doesn't do anything. They keep switching up their numbers, at least three different ones so far!

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying he was "George from BT Openreach". He reckoned there was an issue with my internet. I just told him straight up, "No way, that’s nonsense and you know it." He just chuckled and then ended the call.
